The product, in the report: The product is an automatic baby formula preparation machine that measures, mixes, and dispenses powdered infant formula and water to prepare bottles for infant feeding. The unit uses an internal auger and mixing system to deliver a preset ratio of formula and water based on user-selected settings. It is intended to provide consistent, accurate, and safe preparation of infant formula.
We began using an automatic baby formula preparation machine (Baby Brezza Formula Pro) that had been received as a baby shower gift and was unopened prior to use. During normal operation, the machine consistently failed to dispense formula powder correctly.
The device performs only a partial powder cycle and dispenses mostly water into the bottle. There are no error messages or alerts, and the machine appears to function normally despite producing an improperly mixed bottle.
The product is intended to prepare infant formula by automatically measuring and mixing powdered formula with water. It was being used as directed to prepare bottles for infant feeding.
The product was being used by a caregiver (parent) to prepare bottles for an infant.
The issue occurs almost every use and is reproducible. The only temporary improvement occurs after running a water-only cycle, after which the problem returns within a few uses.
No injury has occurred at this time. However, the malfunction results in inconsistently diluted formula, which may pose a risk of improper nutrition for an infant if not identified. Because the device provides no warning and appears to operate normally, a caregiver may unknowingly feed diluted formula.

The product, in the report: Date of Incident: March 28, 2026 Childs Age: 0-3 months Description of Incident: While using the Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced to prepare infant formula, I discovered plastic fragments inside the bottle after the formula was dispensed. The plastic pieces appear to have originated from inside the machine. I immediately stopped using the product. I have retained the plastic fragments and photographed them alongside the machine for documentation. My infant (03 months old) may have been exposed to these plastic fragments prior to my discovery. I have notified my pediatrician. This defect presents a serious choking and ingestion hazard to newborn infants. I am requesting that the CPSC investigate this product for a potential safety recall. I am happy to provide photographs and the physical fragments upon request.

No one hurt Made Mar 26, 2026, sent to the company Mar 30, 2026, published by CPSC Apr 13, 2026
The product, in the report: Formula Pro Advanced Baby Formula Dispenser
I am reporting a dangerous product defect in the Formula Pro Advanced Baby Formula Dispenser. The device consistently fails to dispense the correct amount of formula when mixing with water, resulting in my infant daughter receiving significantly less formula per feeding than required. This defect is not visible or apparent to a caregiver during normal use, making it especially hazardous. Parents reasonably trust that a product specifically designed for infant formula preparation is functioning accurately. Underfeeding an infant can lead to malnutrition, dehydration, and inadequate developmental growth. Although my child did not sustain a documented injury, she was placed at serious nutritional risk due to this malfunction. I am requesting that the CPSC investigate this product and consider a recall or safety notice to protect other infants and families who may be unknowingly affected. I have also submitted a formal complaint directly to the manufacturer and requested a written response and product recall investigation.

The product, in the report: Baby formula dispenser
Baby Breeza Pro could have killed my twins. It is what people use for making formula bottles ready to go. After seeing numerous reports on social media then I measured formula coming out of product and it is significantly less. The formula shouldve been made with three scoops of formula to 3 ounces of water and it was made with one scoop of formula which is dangerous to the babies health. They want information and warranty, but the product should’ve been recalled by now there are numerous reports of babies being sick and formula not dispensing properly at all all of social media and it is happening to my children.

The product, in the report: Formula maker
I was using the formula maker for my baby and followed all instructions on care and maintenance of the unit. My baby’s weight was normal at birth however dropped dangerously low (<1%ile). I finally figured out that the machine was not dispensing the proper amount of formula, and baby had been getting watered down bottles instead of the correct ratio. Now that I stopped using the machine and measured by hand, baby’s weight has increased however this was incredibly dangerous and our pediatrician is very concerned. I would like this item taken off market.

No one hurt Made Nov 13, 2025, sent to the company Nov 19, 2025, published by CPSC Dec 4, 2025
The product, in the report: Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced Lot #111040US
Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced infant formula dispenser (brand new); we followed all the setup instructions, including selecting the right setting for our specific formula ([REDACTED] organic whole milk infant formula; setting 4), which we confirmed through the company’s website and with a customer service representative over the phone. With our first use, the machine dispensed a total volume of about 55mL instead of the correct volume of about 60mL (2oz). The volume of water dispensed was incorrect. I proceeded to confirm that the right amount of formula was being added but found that only 6grams of formula was being dispensed instead of 8.5grams as instructed by the formula maker. I repeated this three separate times and in all instances, only 6 grams of formula was being dispensed. When I spoke to a customer service representative, they said this indicated a malfunction that required replacement even though the machine was just purchased brand new. However, to complete a replacement, the company requires a fairly onerous process that includes sending multiple photos, videos, and wasting additional formula to document the discrepancy. Additionally, the steps to validate that the right amount of formula is being dispensed is not included as part of the setup instructions; rather I had to search online to find out how I can do this. Had I not checked online, there would have been no way for me to know that the amount of formula dispensed was incorrect. This malfunction presents a serious safety risk to infants.

3 month old with poor weight gain. Was using Baby Brezza to mix formula. We switched to mixing by hand, parents noticed a change in consistency of formula (less translucent, thicker) and baby started to gain great weight within 1 week. We have had 1-2 other patients in our practice with similar issues with Brezzas in the past 1-2 years.
I will ask family if they are willing to submit a report with additional information as well.

The product, in the report: Babybrezza formula pro mini
I started using the babybrezza mini to combo feed my baby. I used the setting on the Babybrezza website for my formula ([REDACTED]- setting 4) and did not think to calibrate/ verify the amount of formula added by the machine is accurate. 2 days ago was when I started only formula feeding my baby and noticed that she drank more milk than usual and was very fussy due to the numerous diaper changes. Using the Babybrezza’s instructions to check the formula vs water dispensed, I used clingfilm to separate the wet from dry compartment of the funnel and weighed the formula. For a 2oz bottle, the machine only dispensed 4g of formula when 1 scoop per [REDACTED] is 8.5g. I manually scooped and weighed the formula by hand and got to 8g as well. I retested the machine numerous times and got the same 4g result each time. The machine was purchased brand new and we only started using it after we got back from the hospital on 5/15. It is dangerous to significantly dilute formula and could have far more serious consequences.

The product, in the report: It’s baby formula dispenser called Formula Pro that is supposed to mix formula with water in seconds.
The company, baby Brezza LLC, makes a baby formula dispenser called Formula Pro that is supposed to mix formula with water in seconds. I purchased this product in Nov, 2023 on Amazon for $157.13. Myself, and my 5m baby are primary users of the machine. In the past month, during cleaning, I noticed black milk powder in the dispensing funnel as well as the bottom of dispensing hole, which is concerning. Through contact customer service, they said it’s mold and suggested that their product could not possible be responsible because it’s plastic and it must be the customers’ misdoing on cleaning diligently. I clean the machine far more frequently than they instructed. No injuries have been noticed by now but having mold in baby product that’s making baby food is a health concern that I would love to report.

The consumer indicates that her baby formula dispenser does not dispense the correct amount of baby formula. Because the bottle is watered down then babies are not receiving adequate formula for their growth.
The consumer indicates she noticed the issue the first time she tried using it.
The consumer plans on keeping her baby formula dispenser for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

The product, in the report: Baby Breeza
I saw an 11 week old infant for follow up for poor weight gain today. The infant was taking appropriate volume of feedings, with normal voiding and stooling, and without other gastrointestinal symptoms. From 4 weeks of age to 9 weeks of age, his weight gain slowed notably and from 9 weeks of age 11 weeks of age he gained significantly. Mom said after our last visit, she examined their Baby Breeza and noted that the formula looked diluted. After careful study, she and her husband realized only 75% of the formula was being dispensed to the bottle. Once they began mixing manually, the baby gained weight. I am very concerned about this. This could have been very dangerous for the baby (increased risk of seizures) and could have led to unnecessary testing for poor weight gain.

The product, in the report: Baby Brezza formula bottle maker… similar to a [REDACTED] where it mixes the formula and water at a warm temperature
The baby brezza formula mixer and dispenser is prone to developing black and white mold within days of a deep clean. I follow the instructions to a T and mold appears. In many cases if parents don’t separate the internal components they wouldn’t know the water and formula both collect mold that the baby will eat
Thousands of mothers have had experienced similar circumstances and [REDACTED] published an article on the risk it poses… I’m shocked they are still able to manufacturer this and harm chilften

The product, in the report: White - Babybreeza Formula Pro Advanced Formula Dispenser
I started using the Baby Breeza Formula Pro Dispenser about a month ago with my newborn. I noticed my Son started throwing up excessive amounts of milk through his mouth and nose shortly after we fed him a bottle from this machine. We cleaned the machine again and it did not help. We reduced the amount we were feeding him thinking we were over feeding him and it did not help. We changed his formula to the one he was drinking at the hospital and it did not help. We finally stopped using the machine and went back to the old way until his stomach settled. We finally got him back to normal feeding and no throw ups. We decided to use the machine again just to rule out there was an issue with it. The problem started again soon after we fed him the 1st bottle from the machine. He started throwing up through his mouth and nose, something he has only done it after being fed bottles from the baby breeza formula dispenser.

The product, in the report: Baby Brezza FormulaDispenser
Preemie baby was pooping very frequently (small amounts nearly every time she ate) and then only gained 2 oz at her weight check. I couldn’t figure out why but then checked my Brezza and formula seemed watery. I pulled water container out a bit so it wouldn’t dispense water when used - only powder - and found it was only dispensing half the amount of formula needed for a 2 oz bottle. The risk to a newborn baby, especially a preemie, of having watered down formula is significant. This item should be recalled and I find the behavior of the company abhorrent.

Baby seen in my pediatric gastroenterology practice for poor weight gain, failure to thrive. Family had been using Baby Brezza to mix formula. Family was not aware that settings had to be adjusted for the formula type and baby had been receiving diluted formula for the first 6 months of his life. Once this was identified, baby gained weight quickly. Though no specific harm to this patient, potential consequences of diluted formula in infancy are severe hyponatremia and electrolyte disturbances, malnutrition, developmental delay due to malnutrition.

The product, in the report: Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced Dispenser I am reporting this based on what the baby’s parents showed me on a telephone screen featuring an add for the product. It looks similar to a [REDACTED] coffee maker. I have not laid hands on one, nor have I reviewed instructional/product description literature.
I am a pediatrician. Parents of a newborn baby report they own a Baby Brezza machine (similar to a coffe maker, it ‘brews’ individual formula bottles for babies). Apparently the machine is able to hold a water volume larger than an appropriately proportionate amount of powdered formula mix - which can result in the preparation of formula that is inappropriately diluted. This apparently happened on two occasions during the night, and the father didn’t realize it until after the bottles had been fed. This is gravely concerning from a nutritional standpoint for sure, but also from a safety standpoint. In the first 4 months of life especially, babies are reliant on a milk source for all of their nutrition, and each feeding serves a crucial role (during this time, babies must gain weight at 1/2 to 1 ounce each day). From a safety standpoint, during the first 6 months of life the kidney function in babies is immature, and it is crucial they receive a proper electrolyte balance in any fluid they consume. Blood sodium levels in newborns are prone to fall significantly with rather modest consumption of fluids containing suboptimal electrolytes (which can result in brain swelling and seizures).

We admitted an infant to our pediatric unit for severe malnutrition and underweight. The family was mixing formula at home using the baby brezza formula. The infant gained excellent weight while admitted and the family described that the baby brezza formula dispenser wasn’t making the same type of bottles as he was getting in the hospital.

Was not mixing formula proportionately. Even though I had an extra set of pieces to change out and keep EXTREMELY clean. Company advertises perfect Formula to water ratio and that is not the case. My baby was struggling drinking her bottles and eventually got diagnosed with reflux. Even after adding the right amount of cereal to her bottles, recommended by her dr, we couldn’t figure out why the bottles weren’t thickening. Turns out she’d been getting watered down bottles for weeks before we realized that the machine was the problem. My baby started getting really lethargic and not eating as much. Was having bad digestive issues. FINALLY I thought to start making bottles by hand. It was night and day. She doesn’t even need cereal in her bottles for reflux bc I don’t even think she has it. The watered down bottles were making her sick! Thank God she was on cereal and getting the extra calories/nutrition that she was lacking from the wrongly mixed bottles produced by the Baby Brezza. She absolutely could’ve gotten seriously sick, failure to thrive, had seizures or brain swelling, water intoxication, or died. I’m obviously upset with myself for trusting a machine to do what it’s supposed to do. But I’m enraged that this company hasn’t pulled these products. There is currently a class action lawsuit against them in NY for this EXACT reason. I hope there is one in Texas one day bc I will def be getting in on it.

No one hurt Made Sep 30, 2020, sent to the company Nov 3, 2020, published by CPSC Nov 25, 2020
The product, in the report: Baby Brezza I believe based on when I saw it through the virtual visit it was this one “Formula Pro Advanced Baby Formula Dispenser” It was black and white Lot #: NWY-137 Item #: FRP0046 Made in October of 2018
At a child’s 12-month well exam, his weight velocity had increased exponentially with no known cause. He had started to gain velocity in his weight around 6 months of age. At that time, there was no concern, as babies frequently change their curve and then curve off again as they get more active (crawling, walking, etc.). When I saw him for the first time, at his 9-month visit, the weight gain increased in velocity again. He was an overall happy and healthy infant, with a couple of minor developmental delays (again small concerns), and I didn’t see any major issues, so we just discussed proper nutrition for an infant and the division of responsibility, a common concept to assure there is no overfeeding, as well as mixing formula properly, etc. I expected his weight to curve off at our next visit. I told the parents if there were concerns before then, we could do another weight check, but they didn’t come in sooner. He started working with a birth-to-3 program for the developmental delays in between the time I saw him at his 9mo and then at 12mo when he weighed in at 40 lbs. I ran a huge panel of labs to check for metabolic disorders, and the only abnormality was mildly elevated triglycerides (the lipid associated with consuming too much sugar). I was certain, at this point, the parents were either lying to me, and he was overfeeding (based on these results) or some piece of information was definitely missing. At the 12mo visit, they claimed he was taking 24oz of 20kcal formula and ~8oz purees per day (he wasn’t very into solids yet and was set for a feeding evaluation with the birth-to-3 program about this soon). I scheduled a virtual visit with them and had dad take me into the kitchen and show me the preparation of the formula to assure they weren’t making a mistake and giving him formula that is too highly caloric. As he was walking into the kitchen, he mentioned that for the past 6 months or so (the first time we noted his weight velocity increasing), they have been using the Baby Brezza. They originally bought it for night feeds, so they wouldn’t have to mix formula at night, but it was so convenient, they started using it all the time. He showed it to me, and I did a quick google search and found a couple scattered reports of inaccurate formula to water ratios. I advised them to immediately stop using this device and to come back in 1 month for a weight check. For the first time since his 6mo well exam, his weight curved off to what is considered a normal curve showing that this was almost certainly the cause of his weight gain and very likely why he hasn’t been interested in solids (he was too full to be interested). He has likely been receiving very highly caloric formula for >6mo. After further research, I found out there is a class-action lawsuit against the company for the opposite complaint of not enough formula to water causing failure to thrive in babies. This is an incredibly unsafe product if it is not able to be consistent with its water to formula powder ratio. Failure to thrive and excessive weight gain causing developmental delays (e.g. this child can’t get from lying down to sitting at 12 months of age due to being too obese) are some of the less serious outcomes I could imagine. If a child has the wrong formula to water ratio, they can have kidney failure, receive too much potassium causing their hearts to stop, etc. I am incredibly fearful of this machine as a health care provider.
For the estimated date below, I just went back about 6 months from when he came in for his 12mo visit, but I’m not sure when they bought the product.

No one hurt Made Jul 21, 2016, sent to the company Aug 2, 2016, published by CPSC Aug 16, 2016
The product, in the report: Machine is supposed to dispense perfectly measured and prepared formula for babies.
We purchased the Baby Brezza Formula Pro for our baby about 4 months ago. We have been using the machine for 11 weeks following all instructions on use and care. The machine is very dangerously shorting the amount of formula that our daughter is to be receiving. It took her being extremely fussy, not pooping, and not sleeping for us to think to compare a handmade bottle to a baby brezza bottle. When comparing we weighed an empty bottle, dispensed 2oz of formula made by the baby brezza and weighed the bottle again and calculated the difference. We then did the same with a bottle made by hand using the formula scoop provided in the formula can. The difference was significant and shocking. Please look into this issue and research this on your own. Watered down bottles can be very dangerous for a newborn as you are already aware. I fear for the parents that do not think to evaluate what is being dispensed.

The product, in the report: Baby Brezza Formula Pro. It is meant to mix and dispense formula quickly and conveniently. Black and white. There is a formula tank on top and a water tank on the machine’s right side. The dispensing spout is in the front, in the center. There are buttons on the front of the machine.
This is regarding the Baby Brezza Formula Pro.
I noticed black mold growing on and around the water spout which sits above the water tank. Upon further investigation, I also found green mold at the bottom of the water tank.
In addition, this machine dispenses inconsistent amounts of water and formula.
No injuries or incidents have occurred.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Oct 9, 2015, sent to the company Nov 20, 2015, published by CPSC Dec 7, 2015
The product, in the report: Formula Maker
The caller received a case of a 10 days old baby that suffered from severe abdominal pain issues from extreme gas.
The caller stated that the mother used the Baby Breeza Formula Maker to mix formula powder with water.
The caller reported two issues with the machine.
1) The caller stated that there are areas that have turned black and red (mold and possibly bacteria). The caller stated that this was seen in various parts of the machine. The caller stated that the baby formula gets contaminated causing severe heath hazards to a baby. The caller has not ran any culture tests to check exactly what the growth is.
2) The caller stated that steam condensates and goes into the formula causing the powder to clump. The caller stated that this dilutes the formula since the proper amount of powder is not measured. This caused the baby to not receive proper amount of food supply. The caller stated that the incorrect dosing of the formula to a baby can cause drop in sodium levels (causing possibility of seizure along with other health concerns like low blood sugar, inability to gain weight, etc).
The caller received photos from the mother of the product disassembled. The caller saw patches of red and black colored growth.
The caller advised the mother to not use this product.
The caller stated that the mother contacted the company to inform them of this issue. The mother was informed to clean the machine after every 4th bottle. The mother was informed that if she followed the instructions, the issues should not occur.
The caller stated that the company is asking the users to clean the machine every 4th bottle which can be generally every day or twice a day. The caller stated that since parents are using this product to save time, they may not clean it as often.
The caller looked up product reviews online and noticed other health professionals who commented on similar heath hazards with the product.
