I had a dishwasher that had an error code saying water was detected under the unit. When I pulled the unit out of the cabinet I say melted plastic on the back. I contacted the company and they sent a technician out to look at it. They are saying that the damage is due to incorrect installation. The unit was not installed at the time of inspection. Samsung dishwasher caught fire during use. Fire was reported to Samsung the following morning. Time between fire report and fire inspection was 24 days. Unit caught fire mid-cycle, so dirty water sat in the unit for 24 days. Samsung sent a technician 24 days later who found the burnt component. Samsung claims then closed the case stating no defect found, that dirty drain hose water entered back into the dishwasher and was dripping on the circulation motor, which wasnt possible or supported by evidence. Samsung case makes no reference to fire. Samsung is unresponsive to request for further information, as documented by email chain. Samsung product support (1800Samsung) provided a form to contact the CEO office, which we did. From a safety standpoint this fire case was treated with negligence.

I am writing to report a serious safety concern with a Samsung dishwasher, as well as multiple product failures from the same manufacturer. I have attempted to resolve this issue directly with Samsung, and through the [REDACTED], but have not received a satisfactory response addressing my safety concerns.
Key points of my complaint:
1. Safety Hazard: My Samsung dishwasher’s bottom rack is melting during the heated dry cycle, posing a potential fire risk and safety hazard.
2. Multiple Product Failures: I purchased a Samsung refrigerator, dishwasher, and TV simultaneously. All three products began experiencing issues shortly after the standard one-year warranty expired.
3. Inadequate Response: Samsung has refused to address the safety concern or consider the exceptional circumstance of multiple product failures from the same purchase period.
4. Customer Service Issues: Samsung denied any accommodation or goodwill service for out-of-warranty products, despite the unusual nature of the situation and the potential safety risk.
5. Lack of Escalation: I was informed that there are no further escalation options beyond the initial customer service representative.
I have photographic evidence of the melting dishwasher rack, which I can provide upon request. I am deeply concerned about the safety implications of continuing to use this appliance, as well as the apparent quality control issues affecting multiple Samsung products.
I am seeking assistance in: 1. Addressing the immediate safety concern with the dishwasher. 2. Investigating whether this is a widespread issue affecting other consumers. 3. Encouraging Samsung to take appropriate action to resolve these concerns.

Samsung dishwashwer smells like chemicals everytime it runs. As soon as it starts to heat up and/or dry the dishes, a very strong odor of “something” comes out from behind the unit and out the front vents. It is not coming from inside. It is the rubber, or insulation, or whatever is wrapped around it that smells like burning, or hot chemicals. It makes me nauseous everytime I am in the kitchen when the dishwasher runs. I contacted Samsung and they sent a tech to ivestigate (twice). They said it is running normally, and that “they don’t deal with smells”. This chemical could very well be carcenogenic, VOC, hazardous and unhealthy. I have had the dishwasher for nearly a year, and the smell has not got away. I have had two techs to look at it and they both said the same thing - it is the insulation/rubber/foam wrapped aroundt he the outside. The fact that Samsung won’t take action to replace it and that we are having to put up with noxious gasses emitting from the dishwasher every time it runs is ludicrous.

I have tried to.get somewhere with Samsung for 5 years at least. We bought what is to us, our dream home in 2016. In 2018 we saved up enough money to buy new appliances. ALL new appliances. We were struck by thr beauty and innovation of Samsung as well as we liked their TVs and Phones.

2. I bought the black stainless steel. All of my kitchen appliances are peeling.
3. The dishwasher: I have 4 sons. They eat a lot. I cook a lot. The door rope broke off and now the very heavy door won’t stay up AND the latch broke so now it won’t work at all. I’ve not had use of it for 4 months (bought 2018). I have to have a chair in my kitchen so the door can’t fall down.

You know what is the saddest thing about all of this? I’m a professional cleaner and I clean my machines habitually. No one has a cleaner fridge or dishwasher, or washer and dryer (my oven needs work).
We spent almost 6,000 and will have to buy new dishwasher and refrigerator and I KNOW that washer is crippling out any day.
Please. PLEASE allow a refund for my family. There are THOUSANDS of people with KNOWN issues over and over and are getting the run around. It’s not right

I purchased a dishwasher, made by Samsung about April of 2023, I registered the product and have tried numerous times to get hold of someone at Samsung. The design if dangerous, the rack hasn’t enough room to go in and out. the wheels pop off and a side channel that hold the door gasket has opened up. exposing a sharp edge on the stainless channel. It was a hassle trying to get the rack into the dishwasher, I’d need to pick the rack up , to put it inside, and when I was trying to do it it sliced my arm. , that was more than a week ago and I still have the scars.

I am the owner of a Samsung DW80R2031-US dishwasher. The dishwasher is nearly new, with a purchase date of 5/11/2021. On 8/27/2021, the dishwasher abruptly stopped working in the middle of a normal wash cycle and ceased to drain any water at all. This resulted in me eating from contaminated dishes the following day, resulting in gastrointestinal distress. For a dishwasher to stop working barely three months after the date of purchase is completely unacceptable, suggesting major manufacturing defects on the part of Samsung. I request that they take immediate action to investigate this defective product and to take appropriate steps to ensure that I have a functioning appliance.

The dishwasher keeps leaking all over the floor from when we first got it. It is about 2 years old. It keeps backing up and has dirty water stuck in the bottom. It keeps giving error messages. About a month ago, it got so hot (builtin), it buckled the strip of granite on the countertop and it cracked. (We have Granite Transformations). Yesterday, it gave another error code and just now an “LE”. It was extremely hot so I turned it off. Found out online, that it can catch on fire.

We purchased a Samsung dishwasher (Model DW80F600UTB) from Lowe’s on 9/3/2014. Since then we have had 3 repairs and now it’s happened again. Repairs were on 1/9/2015, 2/24/15 and 10/5/2015.
The dishwashee just starts running while the door is open. Nobody is near the dishwasher. Both my husband and I have witnessed this. You cannot cancel the cycle, it just keeps coming back on. We have to turn off our circuit breaker to avoid a fire.
Now it happened again on 12/10/2016.
First two times Lowe’s sent a repairman out and third time Samsung actually sent their own person. This dishwasher has been a lemon.

Since purchasing the Samsung Dishwasher we have been displeased with several failing and melting plastic parts inside the washer. We constantly would smell a slight burning odor. We finally gave up on its inability to wash dishes and purchased a replacement. Upon removing the old washer we found that the cabinet it was against had been ruined from water damage and had some light burn marks. There is a plastic reservoir that I assume holds hot water and is not insulated or protected from exposure to the surrounding surfaces. The insulation around this piece was saturated from condensation. We feel fortunate that this unit did not cause a fire as we usually run the dishwasher at night when we are sleeping.
