The product, in the report: Stainless steel dishwasher

The consumer noticed that the wash select cycle panel lost all power to it so he contacted the firm (exact date is unknown) and a technician came out to repair it.

Approximately three to four months later the same failure occurred and the firm was contacted (date is unknown) and a technician came out to the home.

The consumer was advised by the technician that there was bad insulation around the panel (which allows steam and/or condensation to innundate electrical control panel) and it the dishwasher were to fail again to try and unplug it from the wall outlet and allow to air dry prior to use. The technician was able to repair the unit.

On or around 7/27/2011 the consumer attempted to use the dishwasher an notice there was no power to the control panel so he unplugged the unit from the wall outlet and waited for a week when he plugged it back in to determine if it would work.

On 8/2/2011shortly after plugging the dishwasher back into the wall outlet and loading it he started it on the normal wash with sanitizer within a matter of minutes he noticed a plastic burning odor and went into the kitchen and there was smoke coming from the dishwasher. He opened the dishwasher door and noticed that the coil was charred brown and black. The dishwasher was unplugged and moved into the garage.

The firm was contacted on 8/23/2011 and he spoke with a representative who filed a report. The consumer indicated that he isn’t sure if he would like to have the appliance repaired. He has placed the dishwasher inside of the garage and it is still currently in the unplug position.

The consumer indicated that the dishwasher poses as a fire hazard and does not want to risk losing his home by leaving the dishwasher in it.
