The product, in the report: GE dishwasher Model# GSD40602055;Serial# RR 727399B;motor part# WD26X10034
GE Dishwasher Model# GSD4060N2055;Serial# RR727 3998;motor part WD26X10034 started burning. It was December 11, 2014 approximately 11 PM I was awaken by thick smoke. Immediately, I turned the machine off and opened all outside windows and doors to remove smoke.
Technician removed burned motor part (above#) and said this was a faulty part. Very dangerous and I was fortunate to have been able to turn off machine before I would be overcome by smoke.
When I reported this incident to GE Consumer Advocacy today, I was informed that they would send a GE Tech to evaluate the findings;only if the tech I used was certified under GE. My concern is more than just a tech to come evaluate the situation, but a safety issue for other consumers who have the same machine and are sitting on a time bomb. This model number is not on the GE Recall list, but the problem is out there and needs to be addressed.

The product, in the report: this is a stainless steele dish washer with a front top panel
The dishwasher was in use when , it tripped the fuse in the fuse box, I had to go out and put on the fuse box, when I put the dish washer on again, it tripped the fuse and have therefore not been able to use the dish washer again. After research, I called the manufacturer in early June and they offered to send out a service call for a $100.00 to see what is going on, then fixing it would cost extra, after the service call if I did not want to fix it for the additional cost( labor and parts) then I would get a $100.00 for

The product, in the report: GE Dishwasher.
I bought my home in Dec 2011, just recently my dishwasher caught on fire. My daughter and I thought something melted on it. There was no sign of any distress on any plates, glasses , etc. We never put plastic in it. On the bottom lid of the dishwasher where the hot iron is, is where the burn marks are on the dishwasher. I heard on the news that there is a recall on these dishwashers but mine is not in it. You can see where and smell the burn smell coming from it. This is without the washer being in use. The brand of my dishwasher is Model Number # GD2200GO2WW Serial # is SG82065B. My house was built in 2006 so it was brand new when they put it in. Please let me know what I can do? I do beleive there are more dishwashers out there that are unsafe.
