  1. First aid

Made Apr 25, 2026, sent to the company Apr 29, 2026, published by CPSC May 13, 2026

The product, in the report: Bosch 800 series Dishwasher (Black) with front handle Model SHX78CM6N/28 Production Number 0510

I purchased a Bosh Dishwasher on November 28, 2025 for Home Use. It was installed on December 30, 2025 The control panel is thin hard plastic located at the top and fastened to the top but has a gap to the door leaving sharp edges on each side. The ends of this plastic have sharp rough edges. When the door is open, the sharp edges are exposed since it is not flush with the sides of the dishwasher. These edges are about 7 inches from the floor with the door down for loading and unloading. My wife has cut her leg on the edges 3 times when loading and unloading dishes and appears to have left a scar. The first incident was a cut requiring first aid in February requiring a band aid, first aid ointment with bleeding. I had to help her with this injury. A second nick occurred in the same month and another in April when she let me know its a persistent issue with the edges. The April 24 date is the last of 3 dates. Inspection by me on April 24 found exposed sharp corner edges on each side of the panel capable of cutting skin. There is a red re-injury spot which appears to be a scar on my wife’s left leg from the first injury consistent with location of the rough corners. The manufacturer was contacted on April 25, 2025 for follow-up under warranty.
