The product, in the report: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Farberware-Hands-Free-Battery-Operated-Black-Can-Opener-in-Red/51707951?athbdg=L1100 Item number 5169134 UPC code 024131333080 It’s a battery operated can opener that claims it will not leave sharp edges but it leaves slivers of metal which seems far worse.
I purchased a Farberware hands-free automatic can opener from Walmart store #1317 at 125 Bleachery Blvd in Asheville NC on 4/16/22 and used it for the first time on 4/17/22. It leaves metal shavings around the rim of the can. Looking at online reviews, this appears to be a fairly common problem.

The product, in the report: Hands Free Can Opener
I am concerned about the Hands Free Can Opener made by Faberware, •Model no. 5178169. When trying to open a can with this item, it took two times around. When putting it away, I was poked with something sharp. I looked at the can opener and found small slivers of metal on it and the counter. I think that this could be a very dangerous situation if the metal slivers were to fall into the food and ingested causing severe pain and intestinal puncture. I have use a can opener like this before purchasing this brand but my previous brand stopped when it was done automatically. This one you have to stop manually. This may be the cause to the slivers since it can cut twice close to the first cut creating the slivers.
