The product, in the report: Battery operated can opener

Shortly after opening a can of pineapples her husband stepped on a fine piece of metal from the can- it was a 1/2 inch in length and the width of thread. She removed the can from the trash with the lid to it and was able to locate where the shard of metal came from. The shard itself was accidentally discarded.

The can opener is designed to remove the entire lid from the can. The consumer indicated that her concerns were with the shard of metal that could have fallen into the food while opening it.

She has not contacted the firm or the retailer and will not contact them. She has discontinued the use of the can opener.
