  1. No one hurt

Made Jun 8, 2020, sent to the company Jul 16, 2020, published by CPSC Jul 30, 2020

The product, in the report: Hot air popcorn maker

The consumer purchased this from a store and re-packages products and re-sells them. He contacted the manufacturer and told them about the problem and they provided a replacement butter tray.

As soon as he purchased the popcorn maker, he noticed that as soon as it started heating up, while cooking, the plastic portions were extremely hot to the touch.

6/7/2020: The consumer was making popcorn and he saw that popcorn was sticking to the top plastic cover portion. Also, the top portion was no longer fitting snug into the base. That top portion was actually wobbly and this confirmed that the top part had melted.

The consumer turned it off and discontinued use of it.

Incident, no injury but concerned about potential skin burn caused by melting plastic
