First aid Made Apr 17, 2023, sent to the company Apr 20, 2023, published by CPSC May 4, 2023
The product, in the report: Popcorn maker shaped like R2-D2 from the Star Wars movie. The issue is that the area where the popcorn is supposed to pop out is too wide and doesn’t fit snuggly to a bowl. The pipping hot popcorn and kernels fly out of the machine in all directions.
The Uncanny Brands R2-D2 Popcorn Maker is not properly designed. Hot popcorn and kernels fly out of it instead of going into a bowl. One of the kernels flew out at me and burned me in two spots on my chest. I had to carefully cleanup after running the machine to make sure I got every piece or popcorn or kernel that flew out so that my dog wouldn’t eat it. It is not safe to use, especially around pets or small children.
