No one hurt Made Sep 23, 2018, sent to the company Oct 9, 2018, published by CPSC Oct 23, 2018
The product, in the report: Rival model # RV932, white. Has Walmart brand stamp on the bottom, but Walmart told me that they are no longer backing these products when I called the phone number stamped on the item.
I was using a Rival Popcorn Popper Kitchen Appliance (model #RV-932) and the product began to smoke, burning the unpopped seeds in the bottom interior of the appliance. This product also produced enough heat to melt the clear plastic cover and had jammed and caused popcorn to nearly burn one other time. It was less than a year old!

This is the first time that I used this machine. I washed the appliance according to instructions provided by Rival the manufacturer. I Started making popcorn again following maufacturer instructions. Within 3 seconds the machine started smoking heavily. I unplugged the machine , and emptied the contents(pocorn) into the kitchen sink. I discovered approximately 2 dozen kernels that were burnt black on the bottom of the popper.
