The product, in the report: From the box “50s Style Hot Air Popcorn Popper”
We were given a hot air popcorn popper as a gift. The first time we used it, it overheated and began spewing black smoke out of the machine. The smoke continued for 5 minutes after it was unplugged and taken outside. It was used as directed on the box. After the corn finished popping, the popper was turned off at the switch. My daughter walked to the other side of the kitchen with the popcorn, and she turned around and the smoke was pouring out of the top and the bottom.
It didn’t come with any instructions or information inside the box. The outside of the box has very limited instructions and no warnings regarding potential problems, etc. Also, my 12 year-old daughter was the one using the popper. It needs warnings regarding the use by children. (Although, I would think that a 12 year old is competent in using a hot air popcorn popper.)
