The product, in the report: Nostalgia Electrics 50s Style hot air popcorn popper model # RHP310 mini retro popcorn maker

My daughter was using the Hot Air Popcorn machine in her kitchen. She used it a number of times and complained about how hot the outside of the machine would get. The last time she used it, it started to smoke and caught fire. she unplugged it immediately. Nostalgia Electrics is the maker and it was purchased at J C Penney store. She also complained that the machine would not pop about 1/4 of the corn.

I purchased the same machine for myself as well as the one my daughter had the problem with. I have noticed that mine also gets very hot and you have to use a pot holder to empty out the last of the popcorn from the machine. This is a safety hazard, espeically with a product designed for families.
