The reports, as CPSC published them
Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.
Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: API Crusader Climbing Tree Stand (for Hunting) Batch and serial numbers: 9W-0612 ACL304-A
Hello, I am writing in regards to an API Crusader Treestand that I purchased from Bass Pro Shops in 2012. On December 2, 2017, the tree stand failed while in use (specifically while i was climbing up the tree and attaching my safety line to the tree). It buckled at the foot platform and lost grip to the tree, causing myself and the tree stand to free fall down to the base of the tree. I have several pictures and witnesses to the event. I filed a report with Bass Pro, but it has come to my attention that they may not have recorded this event with CPSC.
There are two obvious failure points on the tree stand (as opposed to user error), and I believe the public should be made aware of this to prevent a future serious injury. Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions, to discuss, or to request more information from me. Thank you, [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: API Marksman climbing tree stand Model # GCL300-A sold by Sportsman Guide
While deer hunting this morning using an API Marksman climbing treestand, I was coming back down the tree and a structural support on the stand broke in two, resulting in me flipping backwards out of the stand and hitting on my back. Thankfully, I was only 4 feet off the ground when it happened resulting in a bruised back and a torn calve muscle. I have pictures of the stand along with the model number. I see that this stand has an unrelated recall for the chains but my feeling is this stand needs to be taken off the market completely and an effort to eliminate anybody from using this stand in the future.

Hurt, no treatment Made Oct 8, 2017, sent to the company Feb 16, 2018, published by CPSC Mar 5, 2018
The product, in the report: API Climbing Tree Stand
I purchased my API stand from Bass Pro about 4 years ago. On Sunday it suffered a total structural failure while I was using it. The standing platform cracked in half, suddenly with out warning.. Luckily, I was in a full harness and my fall was arrested.
As background information, I have used this stand about 30 times. I also have kept it inside when stored and never left it out in the elements for more than a day or 2. I’ve always used care in using the stand as not to put undue wear on it. When the stand failed, I was climbing up the tree. At the time of failure, I was standing on the platform and not moving either the top or bottom section of the stand. The failure was sudden and fast, it was like the floor dropped out.
The pictures attached show the failure points. It failed at the location where the foot strap is connected to the standing platform. In this location, there is less structural material. It is also where your feet attached to the stand when climbing, and the pressure of downward force is focused.

The product, in the report: Grandslam Tree Stand
The consumer says the unit is designed with a chain that wraps around the back of the tree. The chain broke in two. The consumer says he has brusing on his left leg. He was hanging upside down by one leg when the chain snapped. He was able to raise himself up and get a hold of the stand and free his foot. The consumer tried to contact the manufacturer who had been bought out. The acquiring company would not give him any information about his product. The consumer says this same product is being sold in stores.
