Emergency room Made Oct 10, 2019, sent to the company Oct 23, 2019, published by CPSC Nov 13, 2019
The product, in the report: Gray two piece climbing tree stand, weighs less than 16lbs, maximum capacity weight 300lbs. API Marksman Climber 9G-0114 GCL300-A
I went hunting on 10/8/2019 and used my API Marksman Climbing Tree Stand that I purchased from the Sportsman Guide some year’s earlier. On my accent up the at roughly 6ft.-8ft., the top section of my API cable strap broke and I went over backwards to the ground. Thinking I broke my right leg I laid on the ground awhile while my pain’s subsided. I managed to get up and walk back to my vehicle and made it home. That evening my leg issue’s got worse and 10/9/2019 went to the ER to get checked out. Luckily I had nothing broken, but received a bad sprain to my right knee and ankle with some damage to my left ankle as well.
When I purchased the API Marksman Climbing Tree Stand it wasn’t long time wise I received a mail notice from API for replacement of the cable straps on the tree stand itself which they sent me new one’s and I replaced and installed them on my API Tree Stand. Obviously the new replacement cable straps are defective also and a “Re-Call” of this API model tree stand needs to be sent to all owner’s and consumer’s. My son own’s the same API Tree Stand and I told him to no longer use it.
I’ve tried contacting API about my accident with their product, but either they’ve went out of business or are under new ownership as of today’s date, 10/10/2019.

The product, in the report: API Crusader Climbing Treestand
I purchased this stand for my husband in November of 2014. He is a lifelong hunter and was planning a trip to the midwest. In November of 2015, the bottom portion of the stand failed and he fell about 15 to 20 feet causing serious injury to his leg.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Oct 25, 2017, sent to the company Nov 2, 2017, published by CPSC Nov 17, 2017
The product, in the report: Product is a green and camouflage tree climbing stand
I was climbing down the tree from my hunt. I was about 35 feet up I had made it all the way down to about 6 feet. When I heard a snap couldn’t figure it out. So I continue to move downward not realizing the snap was the welds on the A-frame part of the stand causing the stand to the claps I fell to the ground. I have a bruised tailbone and a knot right above my buttocks. My back is very sore. After a couple minutes when I could get there by thought I looked over the stand and that’s when I seen that the weld had broke.
