The product, in the report: Ameristep Plastic Strap-On Tree Step
Two years ago my dad was using the ameristep plastic tree steps. One ended up breaking. Lucky for him it was the bottom one. He had just put his weight on it and it snapped. Later i found out they were recalled. It had the recall date on it. We went through all 8 we had and 6 were recalled. Sent them in and got a check back. We didnt return the other 2 because they were not recalled. This passed bow season he was using the other two. Needless to say one broke again. He fell with his arm around his tree stand. He had a huge bruse, was very sore, and couldnt pull back his bow for a while. Ive tryed emailing them about this and can not get a reply. I still have the step. The date code on this step is 2/08. It broke just as the one with the recall did. Were not very happy with the customer support with them.
[CPSC NOTE]: Recall was expanded Oct. 27, 2010 to include this date code - see CPSC release #11-024
