First aid Made Mar 28, 2020, sent to the company Apr 17, 2020, published by CPSC May 1, 2020
The product, in the report: Baldarassario Glass Sliding Closet Doors, 48” wide. Two sides with frosted glass panels separated with wood slats.
On 1.16.2019, I ordered two pairs of Baldarassario glass sliding doors from Wayfair.com, order #[REDACTED]. Then on 3.18.2020, about 15 minutes past midnight, my wife got out of bed and due to one of her legs being asleep, fell into one side of the closet door pair in which it shattered. She cut her forehead and lip and sustained a bad sprained right ankle and foot.
The glass was advertised as “tempered” but while the majority broke as with safety glass, there were many long shards of glass (4-5” in length) still remaining that were potentially very dangerous.
I contacted Wayfair via email and voicemail asking for an investigation into this product that they continue to sell without any response. I did not want this to happen to anyone else in which those long shards of glass would cause great damage.
