The product, in the report: Antique bronze rake brackets for iron stair railing
The caller stated that she purchased the rails with the brackets for the outdoor stairwell, one bracket broke when they were being installed. It was replaced and a bracket broke upon installation of the new set.
10/21/13 The manufacturer was contacted and they informed her that they had not have any reports of incidents involving installations of rake brackets
The caller is concerned that these rails are unsafe and should be reported.
UPDATE FROM CONSUMER: Company states there have been no other incidents involving broken rake railing brackets. I have a hard time believing this as a bracket on their replacement brackets also broke at weld. Looks like cheap Chinese weld material. They are a bit slow at responding to my request for replacement bracket and reimbursement for installation. So far they have been cooperative and nice about it.
