The product, in the report: John Sterling Heavy-Duty 72” Wide 2-Panel Bypass Sliding Door Hardware

I purchased the John Sterling Heavy-Duty 72” Wide 2-Panel Bypass Sliding Door Hardware set from Menards. The model number is R-BYP-100-2D6. I followed the mounting instructions to the letter, but found the included mounting screws for the track to be rather short. I mounted the track using the included #8 x 5/8 truss head screws and the following day mounted the 2 [REDACTED] branded 2-panel hollow-core doors we chose. Upon mounting the first door, the track immediately fell loose, and more than 5 of the mounting screws failed. 5/8 is not long enough to grip through drywall and into wood. I was the only person working on this track hardware install. This product is rated to support 2 doors up to 100lbs each, but could not support a single door that is roughly 64 lbs without failing. Had I not been standing clear and wearing eye protection when the failure occurred, I could’ve had a screw hit my face/eyes, or couldve had the door that was mounted fall onto me. This couldve injured or killed a child if the door fell free from the track. After the originally included screws failed, I immediately replaced them with #8 x 1.5 long truss head screws at additional expense to me. No injuries occurred due to appropriate PPE being used and precautions being taken.
