The product, in the report: Clear Glass Skull Knob from Hobby Lobby http://www.hobbylobby.com/Home-Decor-%26-Frames/Decorative-Accessories/Knobs-%26-Pulls/Clear-Glass-Skull-Knob/p/145829
This is the product: http://www.hobbylobby.com/Home-Decor-%26-Frames/Decorative-Accessories/Knobs-%26-Pulls/Clear-Glass-Skull-Knob/p/145829
In the span of 12 hours, 2 glass skull knobs (purchased from Hobby Lobby) broke while in use. The first broke while I pulled the knob (attached to a bathroom vanity) to open the drawer. The knob broke away from the base, cutting my right thumb and index finger.
The second knob broke later the same day when my 3 year old son decided (unwisely) to use it to boost himself up to the sink. That knob broke off at the base, and the jagged edge produced a very deep laceration to the bottom of his second toe, which resulted in a trip to the ER, where the doctor had to use dermabond (in lieu of stitches, due to the location) to seal the cut and my son is in a splint for 2 weeks to make sure the wound stays closed.
I returned the knobs to the store and explained what happened. The clerk did not seem to understand that I am concerned that these knobs pose a danger, and wanted to know if I wanted 2 new ones. I declined, and I was refunded the cost of the knobs.
