I wanted to report the “Especially for Baby Slide Lock” sold at Babies R Us. These are slide locks for the cabinet that go over the knobs of two cabinets to keep a child out. Any pressure put on the center piece that is supposed to lock along the slides, will move it down the slides, without having to push the “safety lock”. I believe that the lock does not engage on the teeth that are supposed to keep it from moving unless you press the center button.

My child pulled on the doors of the cabinet and the center lock slid down the slides allowing the doors of the cabinet to open and giving her access to the cabinet filled with chemicals.

I am not the first parent to experience this - there are multiple reviews that state the same thing:

    http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3505925#showReviews

Use of this lock made me feel safe that my child did not have access to dangerous household chemicals. I would rather have nothing so that I always watch my child than have this, where I might not watch her as carefully but she still has access to the cabinet. This is a safety nightmare waiting to happen, it gives parents a fals sense of security.
