The product, in the report: 2 in. Satin Brass Victorian Door Knob Mortise Lock Set Elegantly styled in a Victorian theme, the exclusive Satin Brass Victorian Door Knob Mortise Lock Set from Defiant makes a statement with any door. It is constructed of durable steel in a gorgeous satin brass finish. Conveniently designed for either left or right handed installation, and the lock bolt may be key-activated from either side. The fasteners are included and the kit offers easy installation.
I woke up and had to use the restroom turned the door knob and heard a weird click and the door would not open...tried the key and it was not locked. tried to turn it anyway i could and the door would no open....THANKFULLY i had my [REDACTED] knife and jammed it into the space between the door and the jam and managed to get the latch far enough back out of the strike plate to open the door....Think about this if you have an Emergency or a fire in your house before you buy this. I opened the assembly up and found the problem. The piece that broke is stamped junk metal and they create a divot in the metal to bend the tab up during manufacturing...that is a failure point on the highest stress point in the whole assembly.
