Only two days after Thanksgiving, we arrived home from a day of running errands, to find the whole side of our closet ripped out of the wall and the contents spilled onto the floor. The shelf that was under the clothing rod was broken and there were very large holes left in the wall. The things that had been on my side of the closet were now across the center of the closet floor. Thank God I was not in the closet when these bolts gave or I likely would have been seriously injured. I wrote to the distributor/manufacturer about this issue three times to no avail. They never even gave it due attention to send an automated reply indicating receipt of our letters.
After a few weeks i did contact both for one last time. At that time Lowes took a report indicating they felt it was a serious enough matter to warrant such a report, however i have heard nothing since from Lowes and to this day have never heard from the company whose questionable advertising policies have cost us a lot of money to repair damages and reinstall something that could have been done very differently in the first place had they not been so dishonest as to make unsubstantiated claims.
We are thankful that there were no personal injuries yet even purely financial injuries inflicted on people on fixed incomes can be substantial, especially when those injuries could have been avoided had the truth been told in the first place.
We don’t want anyone else to be injured in any way, either financially or physically so we are making this report to your agency at this time.
