The reports, as CPSC published them
Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.
Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Louisiana Pacific Weatherbest composite decking boards
I live in Olathe, Kansas. My house was built in 2008, and we moved in in 2009. In late March, my 13 year-old daughter stepped through a board on our deck (the board broke simultaneously in two places between the supporting beams). She was not seriously injured, with minor abrasions to the leg that went through the deck board. The decking product is Weatherbest composite decking, a recalled product from Louisiana Pacific. I obviously had no idea the decking material was deteriorating (or subject to a recall) until the incident happened.
We filed a claim with LP. They immediately sent out a company to install plywood over the deck (they used scrap pressed board, very unsightly, and it’s warping, so it’s a trip hazard). That was approximately 6 weeks ago. We can’t use our deck, during the best outdoor weather of the year. They told us the next step was for an inspector to show up. We keep calling the inspector, but can never get a firm date for her to show up. I’m frustrated, and in the process of retaining an attorney.
