The product, in the report: SPC flooring

Hello, Yesterday, [REDACTED], our pet cockatiel died. Our son, our family, is devastated. We need your help in determining if our new SPC flooring is safe even for us. The SPC rigid core flooring is made by McMillan of Vancouver but produced in China. We bought 1000 square feet of this flooring from The Flooring Factory in Valencia, Ca. We chose the Serna XL design. As recommended, we used a 6 mil plastic sheeting as a moisture barrier. I installed the flooring myself since the process is simple and straightforward, especially using a vinyl plank chopper that was both quiet and clean compared to a saw. The entire project took more than two months after the floor was delivered. Halfway through the installation, as I rounded the kitchen towards the family room where [REDACTED] cage is located, I heard him fall from his perch. As I checked on him, he was trying to move back up using his beak. My son and I knew something was terribly wrong and we decided to follow online advice to move him out of the house to my in-laws apartment. Within a few nervous hours, he recovered. By the following morning, [REDACTED] was back to his old self. We decided to try to play it safe and move [REDACTED] back home to my sons upstairs room with his window wide open. We even blocked the bottom of the door with towels. This strategy worked and as we continued the project, we aired out the first floor by opening all our windows and sliding door. The flooring project was isolated on the first floor of our house. I eventually finished the entire project in time for my sons graduation party held on Saturday, June 1. With the house in order and cleaned with no more construction debris and dust, we decided to move [REDACTED] back to his cage in the family room. My son even wiped down his cage and organized it with fresh tray of bedding material made just for birds. Fresh food and water, his old toys and perches were organized into [REDACTED] home. My son was super excited to welcome him back to his home. Yesterday, while in a meeting at work, I received a frantic call from my son saying that [REDACTED] was in trouble again. This time he was worst. I immediately drove home hoping and praying that [REDACTED] will bounce back once again. I saw him with my son slumped down on a cloth bedding with one notable exception that my son pointed out to me- his legs were straight back. We were at the backyard at this point, trying desperately to give [REDACTED] fresh air to breathe. We moved him back to the proven safe place in my sons room because it was getting too hot outside. A few minutes later, we heard the anguished cry from my son. My wife and I rushed upstairs to see our son with [REDACTED] lifeless body in his hands. He was inconsolable at that point. The same with my wife. My son had him since his freshman year in college, through out the pandemic, three universities, and most importantly, [REDACTED] was the one that held him together after our son lost {REDACTED], his weiner dog, to old age of 17 years last October. Please help us in the following: 1. Determine what caused [REDACTED] death. 2. Is the manufacturer and distributor responsible. 3. Were regulations and standards of safety violated. 4. Should there be specific warnings about fumes and VOCs pertaining to birds and not just pets in general. [REDACTED] was a very special pet. I believe my sons personality and amount of care and love he gives to all his pets contributed to [REDACTED] being so special. These two had a really strong and special bond. My son said that being an only child makes him rely on his pets even more. After losing [REDACTED], his dog, the loss of [REDACTED] is truly devastating. He kept on saying how young he was to pass. They, according to my son, live to their twenties. [REDACTED] was only seven years old. [REDACTED] is now at the vets clinic freezer waiting for cremation. I had a hold put on until we figure out what happened to him. Please help us get answers for [REDACTED] and safety for other beloved pet birds. [REDACTED]
