The product, in the report: Natural Therm Light Spray Foam insulation made by Natural Polymers, LLC

Therm Light, an open cell polyurethan spray foam insulation, and made by Natural Polymers, LLC was sprayed in our home as a retrofit application where old batting style insulation was removed in the attic ceiling spaces and replaced with spray foam. Within 24 hour re-entry we experienced adverse health reactions, post nasal drip, headache, anxiety, and upper respiratory symptoms. Since the day it was sprayed our home has had obnoxious odor on the second floor. It is worse on hotter days. We had to abandon the second floor of our home and completely separate the air. We moved our baby’s room to the first floor and on some days can still smell it...We hired an IAQ professional and legal assistance as we are not being helped by the contractor that sprayed the foam.

The product, in the report: Spray foam insulation, closed cell 1.6 pcf

I had a local contractor install spray foam insulation in the walls and roof for a portion of my home being remodeled. The product is 1.6 PCF closed cell spray foam insulation supplied by Natural-Therm. Procedures for the installation outlined by the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry, American Chemistry Council / Spray Foam Coalition were not followed, including: 1. occupants (my family) were not informed to vacate the premises during the installation 2. the rooms being sprayed were not isolated from the rest of the home (plastic sheets, tape) 3. active ventilation (fans) of rooms being sprayed to exhaust fumes 4. inadequate Personal Protective Equipment used during the installation

During the first day of the installation, family members had a reaction to the off-gassing/fumes and left the home - profusely runny nose, tightened throat, red/watering eyes. One member continues to have this reaction whenever re-entering the home, even several weeks after the installation. I have had a qualitative test performed on the foam which indicates a very high level of isocyanate compound, indicating that the foam was not properly applied, and continues to off-gas.

My primary concern is that my home is no longer habitable by my family since the spray foam was installed.
