The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Emergency room

Made Feb 12, 2020, sent to the company Feb 21, 2020, published by CPSC Mar 6, 2020

The product, in the report: Handi-Foam™ Quick Cure E-84 (Class 1) fire retardant spray foam insulation is commonly used for sealing and insulating Rim/Band Joists, Basement Walls, Foundation Walls, and areas where the foam will be left exposed.

After applying two part spray foam insulation by handi foam to air seal attic space, the foam has been offgassing. The chemical odor left behind has left the interior of the house inhabitable. The foam is sold at Walmart on Amazon etc., it’s very accessible to every home owner. I tried contacting ICPAdhesives and they took a sample and claimed consistency was ok but did not evaluate for offgassing. They also claimed that the product is for professionals yet its accessible to every consumer online, everyone with a credit card can make a purchase.

I have gotten the product removed but I’m left with off gassing lingering odor that that makes the IQA very bad. My family with two kids are still experiencing sore throat at night. Our only relief is sending the kids to school and going to work during the daytime. We are left without options at this point. Every night we are exposed to this gas that leaves our throat burning in the morning when we awake. We need help
