The product, in the report: Christmas lights
Caller stated that she purchased some christmas lights that after they were in use got extremely hot until they melted the decorations close to them. They also were off-gassing an overwhelming odor (like a skunk) that when customers came in her shop they inquired of the odor. This incident occurred a few hours after being in use.
The manufacturer was not contacted as yet.
She is concerned that these lights poses the risk for a fire and should be reported.
The product is not part of a recall.
The consumer attempted to call the toll free phone# listed on the box. It was “Lowe’s Customer Service #.” Not a manufacturers #. After being on hold over 25 minutes, the consumer hung up. In store customer service said the product was made exclusively (the brand-Holiday Living) for Lowe’s. No manufacturer phone# available. Nor was in store customer service sure if they would report it to corporate.
