Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, care not known

Made Apr 1, 2015, sent to the company Apr 9, 2015, published by CPSC Apr 23, 2015

The product, in the report: Easter Basket Grass colored pink, yellow and green. UPC Code 0639277925732

Purchased some Easter Grass from Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. UPC Code# 639277925732. Imported by Greenbrier International, Inc, 500 Volvo Parkway, Chesapeake, VA 23320. Made in China

The grass was to be used in a small child’s Easter basket. When the product was opened and grass was pulled out, there is an odor from the grass that smells like burnt wood/ashes and noxious chemicals. The odor caused coughing and uncomfortable breathing. After several minutes, the smell remained in the nasal passages. There is concern that this Easter basket grass could cause health issues to a small child and that food items placed in the basket might absorb the burnt wood/ashes and noxious chemical odors. This product will not be used in our family’s Easter baskets.
