First aid Made Jan 25, 2013, sent to the company Feb 22, 2013, published by CPSC Mar 11, 2013
The product, in the report: (35) Bulbs - Clear Mini Lights Length 9.25 ft. - Bulb Spacing 2.75 in. - Green Wire - 120V Stock Code: BRS-3731000 Part # 37-310-00
I purchased a simple string of miniture Christmas tree lights (online) and when I plugged them in there was a bright flash, a burning ‘electrical’ smell, and one of the bulb sockets melted down (I have a photo of it). I was taken outside into the fresh air to clear my lungs. An incident like this would be very dangerous to children, which is why I’m reporting this).
I sent an email to the online vendor detailing the event and also asking for a replacement. There was no response after two weeks.
