The product, in the report: Artificial Douglas Fir Christmas Tree with 400 lights 51”Base Patent # ZL97225630X Batch 503, Bundle 958780, Seq. No. 007495 6mm lights - Model No. CFPS (1)- 50 (0.2), 100/2F (0.4), 150/3F (0.6)
Thursday evening, we noticed a smell of burnt plastic in our livingroom, but could not locate where the smell orginated. We turned off the lights, TV, Christmas Tree and proceeded to go to bed. The next morning upon rising, we turned on the Christmas tree. A short time later we notice the Christmas tree was not lit. Checking the switch, we found that the power was okay. So we tried the plug in other sockets, but upon closer inspection we found that the plug was warped, bulging, and smelt burnt. Thinking it was maybe the fuse, we open the plug to find that it had caught fire inside and melted. We were grateful that we were home and did not have any presents or material around the plug at the time or we may have had a house fire.
