The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Feb 15, 2026, sent to the company Feb 19, 2026, published by CPSC Mar 5, 2026

The product, in the report: Semlos Butane Torch with Fuel Gauge, Refillable Kitchen Torch Lighter with Safety Lock and Adjustable Flame for DIY, Creme Brulee and Soldering(Butane Gas Not Included)

I ordered a lighter torch from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CV7RZHD?th=1) on Jan 17, 2026. In the course of using it, even on the smallest level, the flame would increase from ~6” (in normal operation) to ~12” - ~24”. I was using the torch from preparing creme brulee to lighting camping fires. No injuries occurred. To demonstrate it and to provide a video for consumers as a review on Amazon, I recorded a video with a backdrop of rulers to show the relative distance of the flame.
