The product, in the report: Gas Candle Lighter Model 44002 is stamped on the metal flame stem A small gas lighter designed to be used to light candles. Refillable. Looks very much like a [REDACTED] lighter but the part where the flame comes out is extended out from the top of the lighter to facilitate lighting candles that are contained within a container. Unit is only about 5 1/8 inches long and about 1 1/8 inches wide. made of plastic, primarily; the section where the flame comes out is some sort of non-flammable metal. The one we had was blue; the flame stem is silver.

Purchased a lighter for candles, much like a [REDACTED] lighter used for cigarettes but with a longer nose. last week, smelt a whiff of gas in the living room, on 2 separate occasions, checked stove and fireplace, found no source. Days later, my wife went to light a candle and grabbed the candle lighter from a drawer in our buffet cabinet. She discovered the lighter had seemingly self-combusted, was all burned and melted.
