The product, in the report: ACE clear plastic disposable lighter
This consumer is reporting a clear plastic disposable lighter she believes may have been purchased at a hardware store in Pittsburgh, PA. The lighter was in caller’s 2015 [REDACTED], kept in a storage area with a little door above her rear view mirror and between the two visors. Sunday, May 27, 2018 the caller’s husband left to go to church and found that the lighter had exploded blowing off the door to storage area. The lighter is in pieces, the caller’s husband has been able to close the door to the small storage but it does not function as well as it had. They do have the pieces of the lighter. One of the fears is that sun does not get to this area so there was no direct sunlight so they find the fault with the lighter, another would be that the caller herself is on oxygen which could have become a much more serious incident had she been in the vehicle when this happened and that if her husband had been driving then pieces could have injured him or frightened him and there could have been an accident. There are no injuries being reported. She has not contacted the manufacturer and is not aware of any name for a manufacturer.
