  1. No one hurt

Made May 13, 2012, sent to the company May 21, 2012, published by CPSC Jun 5, 2012

The product, in the report: Hand Truck Distributed by Tractor Supply Company Model #: 011118 SKU#: 3893949

On May 5, 2012, I purchased a hand truck from the Tractor Supply Company in Dixon, CA. The hand truck label indicated that it was rated for 1000 pounds. After I got it home, I wanted to properly inflate the tires so that I could use it to move a 30 cu foot fire safe I had just purchased. While looking at the tires, I discovered that they were labeled, “Max load 353 pounds”. The unit has two tires, thus the max load (tire limitation) is 706 pounds. I called customer service and they said, ask the store. I went to the store. The manager called the same customer service that I had called. This time, customer service told her that the only thing they could go by was whatever the label said. The store was unwilling to take the item in return or make a price adjustment.

    Tractor Supply Company Model#: 011118 SKU#: 3893949

I will not use the hand truck to move more than 650 pounds. I am unaware of any injuries from this product.
