The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. First aid

Made Nov 22, 2011, sent to the company Dec 1, 2011, published by CPSC Dec 15, 2011

The product, in the report: Black, 3-hole puncher. About 12” long. With white writing of Swingline on the top of it.

I was three-hole punching papers over the weekend. As I was pressing my hand down on the handle of the puncher, I started to lift up to release the handle, and there is a white plastic piece between the handle and the front of the puncher. When I was releasing, my hand got caught between the white plastic piece and the handle. The force was so strong that my hand got stuck between and I had to press down the handle again in order to get my hand out. It cut my hand to the point of bleeding. I showed my fiance later on how this happened with a piece of paper and the force ripped the piece of paper instead of the paper slipping out between the handle and the white plastic piece. I am not sure what the white piece is suppose to do, but we even tried to remove it to prevent this from happening again.
