The product, in the report: I had a Red, Yellow and Green Bic lighter

I bought 3 bic lighters from willett farms in East Providence Rhode Island and they have no safety on any of them. I went back to the store thinking they sold me used lighters and every bic lighter in the tray had no safety. I did some research and on bics website it says bic diea not sell lighters without safetys. They are marked bic so they must be counterfeit

I was using a BIC lighter to light a cigarette, and when I was finished, and still holding the lighter near my face, the entire lighter caught on fire, engulfing my entire right hand in flames. I threw the lighter into the ground and it made a popping noise and the flame went out. I sustained a burn on the upper portion if my right lip and right index finger.

The product, in the report: Big lighter yellow one you push on the black lever

Bic USA Inc Shelton CT 06484 Bic lighter my husband lit it sitting down about by his waist far from himself and it flared up and started his hair on fire. Same thing happened to me with a different brand lighter about a month ago, it burned my hair and forehead but it did not start on fire. I have used lighters since 1974 and 2 incidents in just a month tells me that they are not making the lighters safe. Since you, or someone has made it almost impossible to buy matchbooks it is making it difficult for people to have alternatives. Yes you can buy kitchen matches but they can easily break and then the lit part flies off. I will never use a lighter again but others need to be warned and protected. The product, in the report: it is a BIK red disposable lighter with a see through case

I was sitting at my kitchen table. And had just lit a cigarette with a disposable lighter. Set the lighter down on the wooden table. And then heard a hissing noise coming from the lighter. I had company with me at the table. And one person said, quick get it off the table. It’s gonna explode.

I pushed the lighter onto the floor. where it continued make a hissing noise, I proceeded to fill up a tupperware container with 2-3 inches of water and then dropped the lighter into that container.

Had my friend not been present. I would not have put the lighter into water. And possibly a fire could have ensued, especially because the lighter was on a wooden table.

The product, in the report: BIC Mini Lighters

faulty fuel ignition/disbursement design. there is no ‘Warning” on the BIC mini lighters to indicate the inconsistent, and dangerously high flame when they are new; there either needs to be a ‘regulator’ for the amount/flame size OR, they should make the mini with an adjustable flame.

I only smoke outdoors. while using any new BIC Mini lighter, the flame is huge and uncontrollable; if even the slightest breeze blows by, the flame will burn fingers/knuckles/fingernails & nose/nose hairs. If I had long hair & wore it down. I would NOT even use this lighter. In addition, the ‘warning’ says avoid temps of 120 -- all it takes is the lighter being in a pocket at 75 degrees and the flame reaches a very dangerous height.

My complaint/concerns addressed directly to BIC resulted in a ‘coupon’.

The product, in the report: Disposable lighter had an overall tattoo design of a snake and roses. It says flick your bic on one side and the other side says Tattoo design by Bullseye Tattoos.com

Used disposable lighter to light a cigar in garage. Finished the cigar and left the garage. A few minutes later went back in the garage and saw flames on the table where I left the lighter. The lighter had exploded and was burning. A hole was burned in the wood table, a nearby scrub brush was burned, and a battery charger was ruined because the fire melted the wires that were lying close to the lighter. I burned my finger putting the fire out.
