The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Death

Made Jan 24, 2023, sent to the company Feb 7, 2023, published by CPSC Mar 8, 2023

The product, in the report: Solly Baby wrap - the exact wrap used in the death of the baby is unknown to the [REDACTED] Medical Examiner’s Office at this time. However, upon quick inspection of the wraps on https://sollybaby.com/, it appears that all wraps are very similar in terms of how they hold the baby. They do appear to only differ in terms of color, but it is listed that all wraps are made of the same “lightweight, silky-soft and eco-friendly TENCEL™ Modal fabric”.

On 1/21/23 around 1pm, the entire family walked to the playground with infant in a Solly Baby wrap that was carried by mother. Infant was fussy on the walk over, so mother decided to return home alone with infant. At some point during the walk back, infant stopped fussing and mother assumed he had fallen asleep. When mother arrived home and took infant out of the wrap, she discovered he was limp and unresponsive. 911 was called, and medics transported infant to hospital where he was pronounced.
