  1. No one hurt

Made May 27, 2012, sent to the company Jun 4, 2012, published by CPSC Jun 18, 2012

The product, in the report: Pure Fun Kid’s Rocker #9301RS Two-seated rocker colored purple, green, yellow

SUMMARY: This kid’s rocker should be recalled/fixed. Company admits that is UNSAFE to use if put together as instructed. Admits to me that instruction book is wrong on April 24, 2012, but as of a 5/22/12, has not corrected it. -------------

I called customer service on 4/23/2012 to ask about installation instructions, possible defective piece, and hardware (bolts). My husband and I were putting the together the Kid’s Rocker as instructed, but the instructions seemed wrong. Specifically, page 9, step 4 - the written instructions and the picture only show 4 bolts needed to install the hand rails.

The representative who answered my call said the instructions were incorrect for step 4 on page 9. The handrails really need 8 bolt sets and that the pre-punched holes are there for them. He said he would send additional hardware and wanted a picture. He said the product WAS NOT SAFE TO USE without the other bolts. He said the company would correct the directions soon. I emailed him a picture and recapped our conversation as instructed to [REDACTED] on 4/24/12.

When I did not receive the new hardware after a reasonable time, I called the company back. They said the parts were on backorder to 5/14/12. After they received the parts, they would ship them to me. The representative said I could try to buy the parts myself - we had already tried it, but our home depot did not have the same size bolts use by the manufacturer.

On 5/17/12, I emailed [REDACTED] to ask about the status of the replacement parts. I received no reply. On 5/22/12 I emailed the company again asking for a reply or parts. I have received neither.

Here is the following emails I sent to the company:

Apr 24 to [REDACTED] We spoke the phone monday regarding handrail gap and step 4 instructions. We need 2 new hand rails part #3 and 1 hardware package.

Thank you. > <photo.JPG> > > > > [REDACTED] May 22 (5 days ago) to customerservice, [REDACTED], [REDACTED], [REDACTED] Not sure who I need to contact to get a reply, so I’m trying a few email addresses.

I haven’t heard back yet or received replacement parts. For over a month, I have a mostly assembled rocker that is unusable. My patience is running out and I expect an email reply or replacement hardware by close of business on Friday, May 25. After Friday, I will consider other options including returning the item.

This item assembled according to the directions included with the rocker make an unsafe product. The website still has the uncorrected instructions on it.
