Emergency room Made Oct 1, 2012, sent to the company Oct 10, 2012, published by CPSC Oct 24, 2012
The product, in the report: Infant Reclining Feeder Chair manufactured by First Years made for strapping onto chairs and feeding infants and toddlers. The chair also rotates and has an adjustable reclining option. It is an off-white color and has a blue pad on it with white and grey circles.
My 5 month old son was sitting in the reclining feeder chair by First Years. I picked up the chair to move it about 2 feet away on the floor. My son was not unattended but he did not have the harness strapped in place (as he does not move much). As I was moving the chair the plastic head piece snapped out of place (where my hand was on the front end of the chair) and my son toppled down onto the floor hitting his head. We took my son to the emergency room and fortunately he is fine. However, no part of a chair should snap out while he is in it. The chair is intended for infants and toddlers. Therefore, there is a high liklihood that some toddlers would also cause the head piece to snap. Fyi- my son is approximately 15 lbs.
