The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Feb 6, 2012, sent to the company Feb 14, 2012, published by CPSC Feb 29, 2012

The product, in the report: Circo booster seat

My two-year-old daughter was strapped into her Circo Booster Seat when the back and bottom straps abruptly gave way. She was not bouncing around or doing anything energetic; she was just leaning forward. She fell to the ground and was very surprised. She didn’t get bruised, but she was certainly upset.

We tightened and checked the straps and reinstalled the chair. A week later the same thing happened -- she leaned forward, back and bottom straps gave way, she fell. We returned the chair to Target.

The product, in the report: Circo Child Booster Seat. Blue seat with green handles and white straps and buckle. #xj0511

My two and a half year old daughter was buckled into her booster seat. She was able to stand up in it (the buckle came undone). She fell, was knocked unconscious and suffered a concussion.

Made Jun 17, 2011, published by CPSC Jul 12, 2011

The product, in the report: Circo booster chair blue and lime green. Model number XJ 0809 with two white straps and buckles.

The clips used to restrain the booster chair to the adult chair come unbuckled. My son has fallen several times due to this, occasionally being hurt. He has suffered a cut from the booster when he was getting in the chair and it slid over his hand due to the buckle issue. While I understand some models were recalled, this one should be also. Xj 0809

It should be noted that both sets of buckles have this issue.

There have been several incidents, just didn’t know I could/should report it.
