The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

  1. No one hurt

Made Mar 4, 2025, sent to the company Mar 7, 2025, published by CPSC Mar 21, 2025

The product, in the report: I have The Chair by LALO in limited color Mono Licorice all black.

Lalo back piece for the High Chair, the teeth chip/gets loose every time you remove them to clean the chair or clean the straps. Which causes them to not keep baby/toddler on the chair as they stand up and could strangle since the buckle is still on the bottom, if they fall they could potentially strangle, for me my toddler fell over and was held by their arm still suck on the straps since the buckle was still on the chair.

  3. No one hurt

Made Dec 23, 2023, sent to the company Dec 29, 2023, published by CPSC Jan 25, 2024

The product, in the report: High chair for a baby. Plastic seat, 4 wooden legs that are inserted and attached by screws.

The item is a high chair for babies, by the brand lalo. After approximately 3 months of light use I moved the chair and noticed a leg seemed loose. I checked and in fact the screw was almost half way out. I then checked the other 3 legs and I was astonished to find two of the remaining three were also loosened to an alarming degree. Luckily there was no incident involving the child as I caught it early but had I not noticed and the screws continued to loosen the entire high chair would have collapsed to the side with the child in it. After about a month I went back to check the screws and saw they were once again becoming undone. I understand no actual incident took place and no child was injured but I was lucky to have caught it. At the very least it should be something that is looked into.

The product, in the report: Lalo high chair - The Chair Full Kit in Licorice. Of note, the cushion was not in the seat when this happened. It can be used with or without the removable cushion. What happened that made you want to report? The buckles attached to our highchair via a removable and cleanable plate broke from the back of the chair while the baby was in it eating. This meant he was no longer secured (straps just around his body but not connected to the chair. What type of product(s) were being used? The Lalo high chair in licorice. Who was using the product(s)? My 9 month old child. How were the product(s) being used? Product was being used as designed, as a high chair to eat in. We had never removed the plate (didn’t realize it was removable). Were there any injuries that happened or may have happened while using the product? No injuries happened, but could have happened since the child was in an elevated seat and was not secured or restrained. How did any injuries occur? n/a, no injuries occurred.

*FYI - I contacted the company and they are sending a replacement plate and straps to us.
