No one hurt Made Dec 26, 2023, sent to the company Jan 2, 2024, published by CPSC Jan 18, 2024
The product, in the report: The HEAO Baby High Chair, marketed as a versatile and adjustable solution for babies and toddlers, has significant safety concerns that warrant immediate attention. While the product offers a range of features, including a 360° rotating mechanism, 7 height adjustments, and a foldable design, there are inherent hazards that pose serious risks to the well-being of infants. One notable issue involves the reclining function, which has led to alarming incidents of choking for my baby during use. The design flaw in the tray’s large openings has created an additional hazard, increasing the risk of accidents and injuries. Furthermore, a critical yet overlooked feature is the tray button’s unnecessary large plastic component, which poses a threat to the baby when utilizing the function to lift her feet. This oversized plastic part has the potential to harm the baby’s thighs, creating a crushing risk that compromises her safety.
Dear Consumer Product Safety Commission,
I am writing to bring to your attention a serious safety concern regarding a high chair designed for infants, which I purchased recently. The product in question is [Brand Name: HEAO Baby High Chair 360° Rotating Wheels - Green Highchair 7 Heights Adjustable - 5 Positions Recline Baby highchair - Foldable High Chairs for Babies and Toddlers ] High Chair, and I feel compelled to report potential hazards that pose a threat to the well-being of infants.
The high chair is marketed as a sleeper, allowing it to bend all the way back. Regrettably, this design feature has led to a series of alarming incidents in which my baby has choked during use. Additionally, the design has proven to be hazardous as it has caused repeated instances of fingers getting caught, leading to a heightened risk of injury.
As a concerned parent, I have diligently followed the manufacturer’s guidelines, and despite assurances of safety, the experiences I have encountered are deeply distressing. Given the severity of these issues, I am urgently seeking an investigation into the safety of this product.
I kindly request that the Consumer Product Safety Commission thoroughly examines the design and functionality of the [Brand Name] High Chair, with particular attention to the bending mechanism and potential risks associated with its use.
In the interest of protecting infants and preventing further incidents, I implore you to take immediate action to address this matter. I am willing to cooperate fully with any investigation and provide any additional information required.
Furthermore, I request guidance on the proper procedure for returning the product, as I am unwilling to continue using a high chair that poses such risks to my child’s safety. A prompt resolution is of utmost importance to ensure the well-being of all infants using this product.
I appreciate your attention to this matter and anticipate a swift and thorough investigation into the safety concerns outlined. Please inform me of the steps that will be taken to address this issue, and I look forward to your timely response.
Thank you for your commitment to ensuring the safety of consumer products.
Sincerely,
[REDACTED]
