The product, in the report: Eddie Bauer® Classic 3-in-1 Wood High Chair purchased new from Target in 2014. UPC: 884392586034
This incident involved my 1 year old falling face forward onto the floor when the tray of his high chair fell off. Using the Eddie Bauer® Classic 3-in-1 Wood High Chair, my son was placed in the chair with tray assumed to hold in place when an audible “click” is heard. He tried to push out one time, the tray popped off, sliding off the arm rests and my son fell out of the high chair. A kitchen chair sitting beside the high chair broke his fall, although he still fell face down on the floor. As of this point, no major injuries.

No one hurt Made Nov 25, 2015, sent to the company Dec 30, 2015, published by CPSC Jan 14, 2016
The product, in the report: Eddie Bauer® Classic 3-in-1 Wood High Chair
There are two main safety concerns with this high chair. The first is that the straps do not sit up on the waist to safely secure the child. Rather, the straps sit down on the legs. This is a problem because with the straps in this position my son was able to stand up and lean out over the side of the high chair. Luckily, I was standing right next to him to prevent any injury from happening. Secondly, the tray can’t lock into place close enough to the child. This contributes to the issue of allowing enough room for a child to stand up while in the high chair. It also means that if you don’t push the tray back to the child and then pull it to yourself it does not lock into place.

The product, in the report: Eddie Bauer wooden high chair.
The Eddie Bauer Wooden Highchair is the same exact product as the [REDACTED]. My infant fell out of the high chair and suffered a head injury because of the tray. This should be addressed along with the [REDACTED] chair. Identical. I repeat. Identical.

Hurt, no treatment Made May 4, 2014, sent to the company May 13, 2014, published by CPSC Jun 4, 2014
The product, in the report: Eddie Bauer high chair, dark wood with white tray. It is the previous model that does not tilt
I have an Eddie Bauer high chair (dark wood but now the newest one that tilts) that I bought less than a year ago and only have been usig 2-3 months. We put it together after we purchased it. When we started using it a few months ago, we noticed that it was really wobbly. We tightened the screws, and that helped but now they are loose again. The product feels like it is going to fall apart. In addition, the lap belt does not stay locked at all. Everytime I put my little guy in and use the belt his (fairly moderate) wiggling make it come undone. Thirdly there is not enough padding behind his head, and when he wiggles, he often smacks his head in to the wood. He has gotten a bruise from it once. Although my little guy has not gotten hurt, I’m going to discontinue use as it is only a matter of time before something happens.

No one hurt Made Jan 8, 2013, sent to the company Jan 23, 2013, published by CPSC Feb 13, 2013
The product, in the report: Eddie Bauer Wood High Chair
We have the Eddie Bauer wood high chair as a hand me down from my brother, it was purchased in approximately 2006. The buckle is very unsafe. The way it goes around the childs waist and through the legs makes it so that the child can still stand up while buckled and it slips down around their legs. It cannot be tightened to allow it to fit snugger to the seat and therefore is very unsafe since it all ows the child enough slack to stand up. Our 11 month old daughter was buckled in and when we turned around to finish cleaning her up on Sunday she was standing on the seat. It worries me so much that she could have fallen and hit her head.
I feel that the design of the straps is very inadequate and unsafe.

No one hurt Made Dec 18, 2012, sent to the company Jan 7, 2013, published by CPSC Jan 22, 2013
The product, in the report: Eddie Bauer Wooden High Chair 03033B4B by Dorel Juvenile Group
While using this high chair, the child was properly strapped in and the tray was in place. Two 10 month old children have been able to work their way free of the buckle and start to climb out of the chair. This is due to the design of the strap. It is only anchored to the chair at the back of the waist strap. With slender, determined children, the strap slipped off of their rear and they can work their way easily through the loose crotch strap. Without making the strap so tight that it would restrict their stomachs from expanding while they are eating, it will come loose.

No one hurt Made Sep 13, 2011, sent to the company Sep 20, 2011, published by CPSC Oct 4, 2011
The product, in the report: Eddie Bauer Classic Wood High Chair http://www.eddiebauer.djgusa.com/usa/.../Products/For-The-Home/High-Chairs/Details/2324-HC091AAH-Classic-High-Chair
I have a new Eddie Bauer edition high chair purchased from Target in May 2011. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003A4CUZQ
My son is 9 months old as of this incident. There is a design flaw, the plastic piece that is a permanent, unmovable part has a gap just big enough for baby’s foot to get jammed in and risk damage. Even while buckled in, baby can try to stand up and then when he sits back down, or even while trying to put the baby in seat initially, a foot can get wedged in, and the knee gets trapped under the tray and binds up the leg. I became very concerned that his leg might get broken or dislocated in the attempt to dislodge him after he got his foot stuck, it was all contorted in that space that really should not be there. It should not have a gap, the center crotch piece should go from the seat to the tray. This is dangerous!
On a side note, this rather expensive model features straps that do not buckle very well and are positioned ineffectively. Additionally, after less than six months use, the chair is wobbly and feels like it is coming apart. Attempts to tighten screws/bolt were unsuccessful in eliminating the instability of the chair.

No one hurt Made May 13, 2011, published by CPSC Jun 29, 2011
The product, in the report: wooden High Chair
She has had the high chair since the birth of her first son in which is five years old and has used the high chair with each of the children. She noticed that whenever she would buckle the child into the high chair with the tray in place the infants were still able to stand up in the high chair and turn around and face the back of the seat.
While her middle child was seated in the high chair and he began to squirm around in which he was able to stand u in the chair and the seat belt is still buckled but had fallen down to his feet. Each kid wore approximately twenty pounds at the time of the incidents and ranged anywhere from to 6 to 8 months in age. The youngest child was sitting in the highchair buckled in while tray was on. He was able to stand and fell out of the chair, head first, onto the wooden floor.
She contacted the retailer and she was advised to contact the retailer. She has discontinued the use of the highchair and since then disposed of it.
