    The product, in the report: Graco DuetSoothe Swing and Rocker, model number 1893776. This is a 2 - in - 1 infant swing with a removable rocker seat. The unit is a full-size baby swing with a metal frame and plastic housing, includes a padded fabric seat with a 5-point harness. The color is neutral gray/brown with a patterned fabric seat cover. the base and frame are primarily gray. The swing includes multiple motion speeds, vibrations, music and sounds, and can operate using either a wall power adapter or D-cell batteries located in the base. Approximate dimensions are 35” high, 33” wide, 28” deep when assembled. The rocker seat can be detached and used separately.

    I am reporting a safety issue with a Graco DuetSoothe Swing and Rocker, model number 1893776. Prior to the incident, the swing began malfunctioning when powered by the wall adapter. The indicator light would turn on bright briefly, then dim and shut off repeatedly, and the unit would not start. It displayed behavior consistent with a “low battery” condition when plugged in. On the date of the incident, I installed new batteries in the unit while it was not connected to the wall outlet. Immediately after inserting the batteries and attempting to power it on, the swing began to emit smoke from the base area. The unit was turned off and all batteries were removed right away. The product has been used an intended and had not been modified. This incident created a potential fire hazard in a product intended for infant use. The unit is no longer being used due to safety concerns. No injuries occurred.

    The product, in the report: Graco Duet Soothe Swing

    3-month-old infant was swaddled and laid down supine in a baby swing by father. baby was not properly strapped to the Swing and swing was off. Swing reported as usual sleep location of baby next to parents’ bed. He was checked on throughout the night, given a pacifier in the morning around 7 am by mom and she went back to sleep. Father woke up after an hour and a half later and found baby unresponsive on his left side with his legs hanging over the edge of the swing and outside of his swaddle. Parents transported him via private vehicle to ED where he was pronounced.

    The product, in the report: Graco DuetConnect LX Swing and Bouncer Color: Redmond(Gray and White) Width: ~34 inches Height: ~43 inches Depth: ~33 inches Model#: 2160534

    While my baby was secured in the Graco DuetConnect LX swing and the swing was in use, the swing suddenly detached and slammed to the ground. There was no warning or indication that the swing was unstable prior to the failure. The detachment appeared to be a mechanical or structural failure of the swing. The swing was assembled and being used as intended, with no visible signs of damage prior to the incident. Following the incident, my baby became hysterical and was inconsolable for an extended period of time. I am extremely concerned about the possibility of neck and head injuries due to the sudden impact and force of the fall. At the time of this report, I am monitoring my child closely and seeking medical guidance as needed. I discontinued the use of this product immediately. This incident raises serious concerns about the safety and structural integrity of the Graco DuetConnect LX swing. A failure of this nature poses a significant risk of injury to infants and could result in severe harm.

    The product, in the report: -An electric baby swing made by Graco, purchased from Walmart. Its gray in color and gently sways side to side to soothe infants.

    I placed a new [REDACTED] Heavy Duty D battery into my babys motorized swing. After normal use for a short period of time, I noticed that the vibrating seat on the swing had stopped working. Upon checking the battery compartment, I discovered that the battery had leaked a corrosive green substance, which appeared to be battery acid. The leakage had spread onto the inside of the compartment and surrounding components, damaging the device.

    The swing was being used normally and as intended to soothe my infant . The battery was properly installed and matched the correct size/type required for the swing.

    Although there were no physical injuries, this was a serious safety concern. The product is intended for infant use, and a leaking battery poses a chemical burn risk to babies, especially if they touch or mouth any part of the swing. Im very concerned that my baby could have been harmed by this. Additionally, my dog may have licked the licked battery residue before I noticed the leak, which has now raised potential health concerns for my pet. Im reporting this to highlight the potential hazard and prevent this from happening to other families.

    We had a terrifying experience with the Graco DreamGlider (Model 2000709) that could have seriously harmed our baby. I had him buckled in, turned it on at the lowest setting, and within seconds, I heard a loud popalmost like a small explosion. Then, I noticed a strong chemical smell and saw smoke pouring out of the battery compartment. The batteries were brand new, name-brand, and installed correctly. It was about to catch FIRE with my helpless baby inside!! Thank God I was sitting right next to him and got him out in time. But what if I had stepped away for just a moment to tend to one of our other children? The outcome could have been tragic. This is completely unacceptable. Parents should NEVER have to worry that a product designed to comfort their baby might catch fire instead.

    I started having issues with a flashing light and a sudden speed change to maximum speed. This was far too fast for my young baby. While reviews on Amazon were positive, the Graco site shows a different side. There have been multiple reports of:

    Babies being flung from the swing Swing catching fire with infant in swing Swing catching fire when not in use Swing injuring pets when overclocking speed Swing arriving moldy and with dead rodents

    Graco apparently is not handling this situation well and has not issued a recall. I have messaged them to try and get it resolved for ourselves. Comments and reviews are also being deleted by the company

    My 3 week old grandsons [REDACTED] motorized swing started smoking after inserting 4 C batteries. Initially the swing started to vigorously swing on level 2 , music came on staticky then we smelled something hot and a chemical smell followed by smoke. We decided to use batteries because it did not work with power cord. The was received as a baby shower gift and we have no receipt.. Do something about this unsafe product immediately before a child is hurt or worse..

    Our Graco Slim Spaces Compact Baby Swing automatically swings our 3m old baby according to the speed of the dial. However, in the last week the on light has started flashing and the swing has accelerated beyond the highest speed. Its as if someone is pushing the swing as hard as they can. After reading the reviews of this product in Gracos website it appears that many, many other consumers are experiencing the same issue. This is a product for newborns and infants and it is so unsafe!     The swing will begin to swing extremely fast when battery life is low (red light starts flashing) even though its on the lowest swing setting. I stopped using it for my newborn as I didn’t feel it was safe. My child is now 8 months old. I tested the swing and the issue re-occurred. Child is under the product weight limit of 25 pounds.

    URGENT: POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD

    Graco soothe-n-sway-lx [Graco swing] (model number: 2140066) with (date of manufacture: 2022/08/12) smokes and is a potential fire hazard.

    When I plugged my wife’s breast pump (popular model) power adapter (12 volts - 2 amps) into said Graco swing which has a power adapter (5 volts - 2 amps), said Graco swing’s motor smoked to the point where it could have caught on fire.

    Said breast pump and Graco Swing use power adapters with the same size and shape of “female barrel jack” [barrel jack].

    Many parents have a breast pump and Graco swing. it is easy to place the wrong power adapter’s female barrel jack into the other unit’s male power socket. While this may be user error, Graco’s electrical engineers should have put safety precautions in place.

    I have not looked at the board as of yet. I feel that it could be a power supply issue with the board.

    The best safety precaution would have been to include a voltage regulator on the control board to step down the supplied 12 volts to the correct 5 volts that is needed for the Graco swing.

    Another safety precaution that could have been placed on the control board would be a fuse (standard blown out, thermal reset, manual reset).

    It seems that there are no safety precautions for the board and/or motor when inputting more than 5 volts, when considering that the motor burned out when applying 12 volts.

    I have contacted Graco’s customer service center. I asked if there was a recall on the unit, and I was told there was not. I explained the issue above multiple times to customer service. I asked to speak with someone to go over the possible recall, and I was denied. The customer representative “[REDACTED]” stated that the phone calls are recorded, if you would like to request them for this report.

    Today makes the 4th time the swing has fallen out of it’s tracks with the baby swinging in it. There is no “lock” or “click” to lock in place the swing so as it’s swinging, it eventually swings itself right out of the tracks. The swing falls to the floor, with baby in it, with enough force to rattle the floor of the room it is in. There are 6 speed settings (1 slowest; 6 fastest). The times the swing has fallen, the speed has been at 2 or 3. I’m sure the impact of a speed of 5-6 would be much more significant.

Not only does it jerk when swinging side to side the speed is highly inaccurate seeing as you place it on the Lowest setting and out of nowhere it changes speed to super high then back to low. It’s unpredictable when it changes speeds by itself! As shown in video you see it pick up speed then decrease speed. You can never leave a baby unattended to begin with but with this swing you’d literally have to sit right next to the baby because the speed changes out of no where along with the jerk movements. Also, when you change the position of the swing a baby could easily tip out of it because of such a high speed. I would definitely return this if I still had a receipt!!

    Just had a baby May 6th 2019..

    This swing is a ??SAFETY HAZARD!!!! ?? Not only does it jerk when swinging side to side the speed is highly inaccurate seeing as you place it on the Lowest setting and out of nowhere it changes speed to super high then back to low. It’s unpredictable when it changes speeds by itself! As shown in video you see it pick up speed then decrease speed. You can never leave a baby unattended to begin with but with this swing you’d literally have to sit right next to the baby because the speed changes out of no where along with the jerk movements. Also, when you change the position of the swing a baby could easily tip out of it because of such a high speed. I would definitely return this if I still had a receipt!!

    GRACO Duetconnect LX multidirectional baby swing and portable bouncer (UPC 0 47406 14157 9 ). Purchased at Target.

    The issue with the swing is the mobile that is suspended above the baby. The mobile consists of a plastic fan-shaped piece with three blades. Each blade supports a soft item that dangles. The plastic piece itself has a small elastic loop in its hub the attaches to a small plastic hook on the underside of the swing motor mount.     I took out my Graco baby swing that I used with my kids, for my grandson. I found out today that items just like this swing were recalled back in 2000. When I called Graco, they said that this swing was not on recall. However, it should be. Back when I had my kids, I realized that the tray/crotch strap did not work well, so I added a crotch strap of my own that hooked into the waist strap. I realize now, that I should have reported it then. It makes me sad that babies died. Here is the recall I am speaking of.[REDACTED] I am attaching pictures of the defective swing and a picture of the model number, etc. I am concerned that as people my age are having grandbabies, more babies may die from grandparents using this swing.

    Graco baby swing. Model number 1855760. Like new, only used 4 times. The control panel on the swing became extremely hot when plugged in. Unsafe for the baby and potential fire hazard. I contacted Graco to report the incident. They responded that the swing was past the one year warranty so would do nothing except offer a 20 dollar rebate on a costly new swing. Graco did not care that it was a potential fire hazard or that my grand baby or other children in my home could have been burned. Both my son and his wife were witness to the incident. Again, this swing is in like new condition and was only used four times.

    The product is the Graco Swing & Sway. This item was purchased from Target in 2017 and I registered the product with Graco. As I was buckling my 4 and ½ month old daughter into the swing, the main strap that all of the ancillary straps buckle into broke apart from the seat on August 6, 2017. This was unexpected and through no fault of our own – we are lucky it didn’t break once she was strapped in and the swing was in motion. We have had this item less than a year. My daughter only weighs 16 pounds. This should not have happened.

    I have a Graco Swing By Me baby swing that was purchased back in 2012. We had it for my firstborn and then kept it for my second born who arrived in 2016. We have placed my second born in the swing many times and on a number of occasion,s one of the legs has unlocked on its own lowering itself on the front right leg. This has caused the swing to jostle and has made me nervous that it will collapse with my baby in the swing. I emailed the company who stated that because the product is no longer under warranty, they would not be able to fix the problem.

    2 month infant was placed in the swing seat and the seat was placed sideways on the seat holder. This prevented the seat from being locked into place. It is presumed the family cat jumped down from a kitchen counter, causing the seat to topple from the holder. The infant landed face down on the carpet with the seat on top of him, completely covering the infant.

    We purchased a Graco Sweet Peace baby swing from a friend who used it previously with her baby. She said that once you turned the swing off, it didn’t stop. I didn’t believe her until I bought it from her, and the swing literally didn’t turn off! And sometimes when you hit it accidentally, it will turn on!

    On 07/13/13, we purchased a Graco DuetSoothe Swing (Winslet), model #1852655, date of manufacture 04/30/2013. We have been using it for less than two months. During this time the motor has always been quite loud, but the real problem occurred when white powder began spilling out of the motor housing. Obviously we are concerned for our baby’s safety since the powder falls down on him from above and we do not know if it is toxic or not. We cleaned it up the first time but it seems to keep happening over time. We have contacted the company and are waiting to hear about the substance. The company representative was not sure, so she forwarded our concern to another employee. We also emailed them a photo. In the meantime they are sending us a new motor, but we are still concerned about the potential health risks of the powder.

    I have a Graco Lovin’ Hug Plug-In Infant Swing. The frame moves with the swing, and makes creaking sounds. The baby keeps sliding down even when he’s buckled in. The way the swing is positioned even when the chair is as far back as it can go his chin is resting on his chest. And most importantly the mobile falls off on top of the baby!

    The product, in the report: This was a graco kinsey model swing. Model:1770590 Serial No. or Manufacture Date: 20101229 It supposedly has a recline feature with three settings. none of them work and it tips forward unexpectedly.

    I purchased the Graco Kinsey swing online from craigslist.org as almost brand new. When I started to place my newborn in the swing the reclining feature on this model did not lock and tipped forward. I never could get the recline to work or lock into place safely without falling forward on it’s own. Baby or not it tipped forward and didn’t recline properly. this is dangerous to any mother who places a baby in the recline position and watches the thing tip her child right out of it. even with buckles it’s a danger to a new baby to be tipped out like that.

    Please recall this particular one so no one gets seriously injured.
