How badly anyone was hurt

  • No one hurt 2 CPSC: Incident, No Injury

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Apr 10, 2013, sent to the company Apr 18, 2013, published by CPSC May 9, 2013

The product, in the report: Carter’s musical baby swing

Carter’s musical baby swing has a plastic arch above the baby’s head that tends to disconnet from the poles and fall on the baby’s head.

This has happened twice already so we detached the arch completely. Other parents should know about this.

We have a baby-safety problem with one of Carter’s products. We bought a musical swing for our baby girl [REDACTED]... it has a major design flaw - the arch above the baby’s head tends to fall on the sleeping baby. It has done it for the second time now and our solution is always to detach the arch completely and perhaps just throw it away. Please let your customers know about this safety issue.

The product, in the report: Wild Life Swing set, purchased at babies-r-us. It is tan with a mobile that looks like a giraffe. The head support in the swing also looks like a giraffe.

After two weeks of using this product one of the main bars on it came loose. Thankfully my child is still a tiny newborn or the weight could have caused him to fall.
