The product, in the report: bright starts (TM) Playful Paradise (TM) Portable Swing
bright starts Playful Paradise Portable Swing: We encounter a near choking or swallowing incident that could have resulted in injury or death. Fortunately, we caught it in time. There are four small rubber pads/plugs that are on the bottom of this product. When it is slid across the floor, especially carpeting, they pop/pull right out and can easily be found, picked up easily fit in the mouth of small children. That is precisely what happened in our incident. One of these pads/plugs came out without being seen. A short time later, we saw our 3-year-old grandson pick a small object up from off the floor and he proceeded to put it in his mouth. My wife, (the grandmother), caught him and grabbed it from him just prior to him putting it entirely in his mouth. We couldn’t figure out what it was or where it came from until about a hour later when I when to move the product to another location on the carpet did I, (the grandfather) witness another pad/plug pop out. I just got done diss-assembling it, boxing it back up, and I will be returning to the Walmart store where we purchased for a refund and to warn them to remove this product from their shelves worldwide. Thanks, [REDACTED].

The product, in the report: Bright Starts Playful Paradise Portable Compact Automatic Baby Swing with Music, Unisex, Newborn +
My 2 month old infant was in the swing when the overhead toy holder became dislodged and hit him in the face resulting in a scratch on his forehead. This toy holder does not lock into place and relies only on it being set into place. This could have seriously injured my child.

No one hurt Made Dec 23, 2025, sent to the company Jan 2, 2026, published by CPSC Jan 30, 2026
The product, in the report: The Bright Starts Whimsical Wild Portable Automatic 6Speed Baby Swing is a battery-powered infant swing for 09 month olds, with a padded seat suspended from a freestanding frame, a 3-point harness, removable toy bar, and 6-speed swinging motion; during normal use, a pin securing the frame fell out, causing one side of the swing to collapse while my 2month-old infant was in it, with no injury.
While using this Bright Starts Whimsical Wild Portable Automatic 6Speed Baby Swing according to instructions, a pin that secures the frame/seat assembly fell out. As a result, one side of the swing collapsed to the floor while my 2monthold infant was in it. No injury occurred, but the failure posed a serious safety risk.

No incident, no one hurt Made Jun 24, 2025, sent to the company Jul 11, 2025, published by CPSC Jul 25, 2025
The product, in the report: Bright Starts Playful Paradise Portable Compact Automatic Baby Swing with Music, Unisex, Newborn +
Bright Starts Playful Paradise Portable Compact Automatic Baby Swing has several safety issues. This swing is advertised for newborn to 9 months. The seat pad design causes my newborn baby to scrunch up, particularly in the neck airway area. The 5-point harness is designed in such a way that the straps rub and dig into babies skin, especially where my newborn arms naturally rest. The harness is also not adjustable in the croth area so the harness is basically laying over my newborns chest. The last safety issue I have noticed is the toy bar is not safely secured and can pop off with gentle pressure, which means it could fall on my baby, striking baby parts. We are not using this swing anymore and have reviewed it on Amazon as being unsafe. Other consumers have reported similar and other safety issues with this swing. Within the 1-3 star category, I counted 31 reviews reported safety issues, some of them near tragic.

The product, in the report: Bright Starts Plug-in Sway & Swing, Up Up & Away. Infant swing that swing front to back or side to side. Can be plugged into outlet or powered by batteries. Has a moblie with a green/red/yellow turtle and a blue/white zebra.
Reporting a near miss with baby product. The harness buckle on Bright Starts Plug-in Sway & Swing broke while child was in it. Child was well within weight restrictions of swing (13-14 lb child, swing weight restriction is 25 lbs). Also, small piece of plastic buckle that attached the harness strap to buckle came free when harness buckle broke; this plastic piece was the perfect size for a choking hazard.

Hurt, no treatment Made Mar 10, 2012, sent to the company Mar 19, 2012, published by CPSC Apr 9, 2012
The product, in the report: Bright Starts Kashmir Ingenuity Smart and Quiet Swing strap on the front that covers the diaper area.
The swing was great until my child became more active, he moves his little legs like most 3 month olds do. Well I didnt notice it at first, my sitter did, but the cloth on the swing where you buckle him in is rubbing against his leg and rubbing it raw. He is by no means hefty, or have chunky legs. he is actually kind of small for his age.I put him in it again thinking maybe the strap was just placed wrong or somthing, and even though i made sure it wasnt touching his legs at first it still ended up rubbing it raw! ‘Ive never had this kind of problem with any other swing itve used and i have 4 children so i have used a few brands!
