Emergency room Made Apr 14, 2026, sent to the company Apr 17, 2026, published by CPSC May 1, 2026
The product, in the report: The product is a Delta Children 6-in-1 convertible crib. It is a full-size wooden crib with vertical slats on all sides. The crib is designed for infants and converts into different bed types as the child grows. It uses a standard crib mattress and has adjustable mattress height settings. The slatted sides are intended to keep the child contained while allowing airflow and visibility.
I am reporting a safety concern involving a crib and a pattern of limb entrapment that resulted in injury to my infant daughter.
Prior to the incident, my daughter had a documented history of becoming physically entrapped within the crib. Specifically, her arm would become lodged between the crib slats during normal movement and sleep. This occurred on multiple occasions and required parental intervention to free her arm. These incidents were observed directly and raised as concerns prior to the injury.
We sought guidance regarding these occurrences, including bringing them up during medical visits and in conversations with professionals. Despite these concerns, no clear guidance or preventative solution was provided.
On the date of the incident, my daughter became entrapped in the crib in a similar manner. Her arm became caught between the slats, and as she moved and rolled with her body weight, force was applied to the trapped limb. This resulted in a fracture to her arm.
The mechanism of injury is consistent with a scenario in which a limb is immobilized while the body continues to move, creating rotational force. This type of entrapment risk does not appear to be adequately addressed by current crib safety standards, which focus primarily on head entrapment rather than limb entrapment.
Following the incident, we immediately sought emergency medical care and took corrective action by removing the crib from use the same day and replacing it with a pack and play to eliminate further risk.
This report is being made to highlight a potential gap in crib safety standards related to limb entrapment and to prevent similar incidents from occurring to other children.

The product, in the report: Wood baby crib
We purchased the Delta Childrens Serena 4 in 1 Convertable Crib from Target in June 2025. Over the last few months the metal screws have wiggled loose from crib. Our babies could easily pull one out and choke on it if we had not noticed and tightened them. Today, one of the side railings snapped in half, where my baby could have fallen out or been injured by the sharp area where the railing snapped.

The product, in the report: Delta children Adley 3-in-1 convertible crib
I have a Delta children Adley 3-in-1 convertible crib I pitched from Target about 2 years ago. My daughter is who sleeps in it is 21 months. She has hurt her leg twice this past week due to the rail spacing. She has stuck her leg in between the railings and got her knee stuck, causing her a lot of pain. Her leg is so far wedged that I have to bend, almost break the railings to free it. This has happened today 5/12/25, and 2 days ago 5/10/25. I think we have gotten to the point where I feel her bed is no longer safe for her to be in, and now Im trying to figure out other options, but financially restricted from finding another safer bed for the time being. The spacing of the rails in the design is what I feel makes this unsafe for her.

We have the Delta Children Abby Convertible Crib and Changer, Dark Chocolate crib. We abide by all safe sleep regulations. Severe bruising and swelling of both legs occurred to a 16 month old boy. Baby boy was face up with both legs stuck between crib slats right above both knees. My 16-month-old son had both his legs trapped in between the slats of his crib that cut off circulation to both his legs for a short time period. I used butter, canola oil, adjusting his body, and lifting up to free his legs but all provided little-to-no give of releasing him. After contacting emergency services, they had to break the slats of his crib to free his legs and expressed there was no other way than breaking the crib. He was at severe risk of blood clots and broken leg following the incident. Pictures attached were taken 30 min following event and have become more severe since then.

I have a safety concern about a crib. Below is a Copy of message/concern I sent to Delta Children today (8/19/22)
My name is [REDACTED]. I can be reached via email at [REDACTED] I’m not sure who best to contact about a safety concern/issue. We have the Delta Children Milo 3-in-1 Convertible Crib (553130-026), which we bought new in June 2021 from the Delta Children Store on Amazon. My 8 month old infant has gotten her legs and arms stuck between the bed side slats/rails on multiple occasions. She has great head control, can easily roll in all directions, and is nearly crawling. *Today (8/19/22), after being placed in her crib for a nap she rolled to her side and at an angle, and then eventually her tummy and in the process got her left leg stuck in the slats. She was tired and due to getting her leg stuck she became distressed. Although she has great head/neck/torso control, after a short while of being stuck in the slats, she appeared to be having difficulty keeping her head/chest up. If she had been left there too much longer she very well could have suffocated on her crib mattress (also a Delta product) because she got stuck. I am very concerned that this could happen again to my daughter or to other infants and cause a fatality. I will no longer be placing my infant in this crib, which is supposed to be a safe sleep place. Instead I am going to have to spend money again to purchase a crib that is safe. I am hoping that Delta Children may be able remedy the issue in some way so that I don’t have to buy another crib and so that the safety concern can be addressed for others who may have the same crib. *Please note, I do have a recording of this incident. Additionally I am going to explore options for reporting this safety concern to CPSC and/or [REDACTED].

Hurt, no treatment Made Jul 18, 2022, sent to the company Sep 13, 2022, published by CPSC Sep 27, 2022
The product, in the report: White Sloane 4 in 1 acrylic crib from delta children
I found a long strip of plastic hanging off one of the bars of my son’s Delta Children Sloan Acrylic crib while putting him to bed. He has always followed the AAP safe sleep guidelines and no toys, blankets,’or pillows have ever been put in his crib. He was not injured but very very easily could have been. I pulled the plastic strip and it easily came off. He could have strangled himself in his sleep or choked on it if he’d swallowed it.

The product, in the report: Delta Children Essex Crib
I purchased the Delta Children Essex Crib for my baby in August 2021. Upon opening the box the crib had a terrible, strong, toxic smell. After 2 months and much ventilation, the smell on the wood of the crib is still horrible and we are worried about our baby smelling it. Cribs should not be able to be sold with this kind of paint that releases such toxic fumes. On top of this, Delta Children currently does not have a working phone number so consumer complaints are dealt with only via email. No one from the company is returning my emails. Please investigate this company and the paint they are using on infant cribs. It is not safe.

My Child: Falling in a crib: There could be injuries due to design: The Delta Children Perry 6-in-1 Convertible Crib, Greenguard Gold Certified UPC: 080213097271Item Number (DPCI): 030-08-0275 has a design flaw that makes it extremely unsafe for a child if they stand up (which all babies do at some point) inside their crib and then fall towards the wood frame on the back of the crib. The issue with the design is that the Delta company designed the back board with trim on the inside of the crib. This trim is very narrow and rounded which means if a child falls backwards onto it with their skull or face you have a small concentrated area striking their head instead of a flat even surface which allows energy and force to be dissipated easier instead of concentrated at one point. This is very dangerous and I am surprised engineers and the safety department for delta never realized this. Please look into this. Trim should never be allowed on the inside of a crib like this. It is just way too dangerous for falls.
