  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Jun 14, 2026, sent to the company Aug 7, 2026, published by CPSC Aug 21, 2026

The product, in the report: Dadada Baby Bliss 4-in-1 Convertible Crib in Walnut. This is an infant crib intended as a primary sleep environment for a newborn, designed to transition into a toddler floor bed (with conversion kit sold separately). The item is constructed from beech wood with a dark brown “walnut” finish. Dimensions: 54 inches by 30 inches by 36 inches. Product Weight: 60.6 pounds.

    1. What happened? During the unboxing and assembly of a newly purchased Dadada Baby Bliss 4in1 Convertible Crib (Batch #012026, April 2026), we discovered structural manufacturing defects. The primary load-bearing rail was significantly warped straight out of the box, and the center bolt hole on this warped rail had not been drilled through, making it impossible to insert or secure the required center structural bolt. These defects prevented the crib from sitting level on its foundation and raised immediate concerns about safe infant sleep.

We reported the following defects to Dadada Baby:

Severe structural bowing: The main rail was visibly warped upon opening the box. The bowing prevented components from sitting flush, created uneven gaps, and made proper assembly impossible.

Incomplete factory drilling: The center bolt hole on the bowed rail was only partially drilled. The failed hole had been sealed and colored over at the factory, indicating the defect occurred during production.

Dadada Baby was notified on June 3, 2026, the day the crib was delivered. In subsequent communications, the manufacturer downplayed the structural issues, attributing the warp to “shipping heat” and advising us to “tighten it more”.

This explanation is inconsistent with the physical evidence. The board was already bowed before assembly, which caused the drill bit to misalign and create the partial hole that was later finished and colored over. This confirms the defect originated during manufacturing (not transit or storage) and that the crib passed through production and inspection with a structural flaw.

Because the unit arrived with multiple distinct structural failures, we cannot trust that the remaining weight-bearing joints and hardware inserts throughout the crib are safe for infant use.

    2. What type of product was being used? An infant crib intended as a primary sleep environment for a newborn. Brand/Manufacturer: Dadada Baby Model: Bliss 4in1 Convertible Crib (Walnut) Batch: #012026 (Production Date: April 2026) Order Number: [REDACTED]

    3. Who was using the product? The crib was intended for immediate use by a newborn as their primary sleep environment.

    4. How was the product being used? The crib was being assembled strictly according to the manufacturers instructions. Assembly was halted immediately upon discovering the structural defects and the impossibility of safely securing the required hardware.

    5. Were there any injuries? No injuries occurred. The defects were identified during initial assembly, and the crib was never used.

    6. How did any injuries occur (or could they occur)? Although no injuries occurred, the defects present an immediate and severe risk of future injury. Because the primary structural rail cannot be fastened with its required center bolt, the crib frame remains distorted, unstable, and unable to sit level. If an infant were placed inside, the instability could lead to: Frame collapse. Joint or hardware failure under weight. An unlevel infant sleep environment Creation of unintended gaps between the mattress support and frame.

These conditions pose risks of infant entrapment, strangulation, or suffocation.
