  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Jul 19, 2026, sent to the company Jul 22, 2026, published by CPSC Aug 5, 2026

The product, in the report: Cradlewise smart crib

I found loose hardware on the floor under my Cradlewise crib. Upon further inspection, I noticed multiple bolts had backed out of the mechanical components inside the base of the crib. I also noticed a bolt that had become loose and was resting on top of the plastic mesh under the base of the crib. The hardware that was on the floor had fallen through the holes in the plastic mesh.

I have used my Cradlewise crib as intended. This occurred after using the crib for 9 months. For the majority of the time, the bounce was on a low or gentle setting.

No injuries occurred because of the loose hardware, however they are a choking hazard for babies, especially because the Cradlewise crib is a baby product.

I appreciate the Cradlewise customer service and their prompt response to resolve this issue by sending a replacement base. However, Cradlewise needs to determine why the bolts started backing out and why the hardware came loose. In the interim, to eliminate the choking hazard of loose hardware, Cradlewise company should replace the plastic cover under the base with something that has much smaller holes. Therefore, if any hardware becomes loose on other cribs, the hardware would not be able to fall through and onto the floor. This would immediately eliminate the choking hazard while they work on determining why bolts are coming loose from the mechanical component in the base.

We have an unsafe crib. A piece of hardware, the cam lock nut, falls out of the wooden parts of the crib which is a choking hazard for baby.

The product, in the report: Cradlewise smart crib and bassinet

My cradle had lost a cam lock nut unbeknownst to mefound it on the floor of the room no realizing what it went to. We used this Cradlewise bassinet/crib for its intended use with my infant daughter for sleep. No injuries, however if this nut had been found by my daughter I would be telling a different story. I feel fortunate. Upon further inspectionI had 3 different cam lock nuts in varying sizes. None of which fit the holes drilled. They bend easily and come loose. November 24th was the day I realized what the cam lock but went to.

The product, in the report: Cradlewise Crib

When we built our Cradlewise crib, we noticed that the monitor arc bar couldn’t be secured very tightly. It wobbled even though we attached it following the instructions. We assumed that was okay, since we built the crib according to the instructions.

When she was tall enough to stand and jump in the crib, my one-year old was able to break off the monitor bar by herself. When we looked at the monitor arc, the screws securing it in place had bent and the nuts holding the screws couldn’t reattach it.

Also, my daughter injured herself multiple times hitting her head on the side of the crib. She split her eybrow twice. The company sells padding for the crib parts for $70, so it seems like they know that the edges are dangerous and should include those standard with the crib.

After contacting the company enough times, they finally sent out a tech to fix it, who asked for specifically for those nuts, because he said they were dangerous. We no longer had them.

The monitor arc being able to be detached by a one year old, the sharp edges that caused open wounds and being told the nuts are dangerous worried us - for this amount of money, the product should have been safe.

  6. No one hurt

Made Nov 7, 2025, sent to the company Nov 18, 2025, published by CPSC Dec 3, 2025

The product, in the report: Cradlewise Convertible Smart Bassinet and Crib. It is a wooden, convertible smart crib/bassinet. The website says it is 88.2 lbs, 40 (L) x 25 (W) x 42 (H). It is meant to be used for children 24 months and under.

We purchased a Cradlewise smart crib in April of 2024 (delivered in September of 2024). A year in, we noticed faulty hardware that is 100% a choking hazard for babies and toddlers. When the monitor stopped working, the company chat support instructed us to disassemble the top of the crib to check the connection - when we did, we noticed that the cam lock nuts the sent with the product had warped and fell out on their own, with no tools used. The are the size of a baby’s airway. We contacted them to let them know, and they sent us replacement hardware that was clearly different than what they originally sent. We asked them to do a recall - they said they’d get back to us, but did not. The cribs are still on the market and no recalls or notices have been issued. We have a video of a cam lock nut falling out while I bounced the crib.
