The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Aug 19, 2026, sent to the company Aug 31, 2026, published by CPSC Sep 15, 2026

The product, in the report: Lovevery The Play Gym, 5-Stage Baby Developmental Activity Gym and Play Mat for Full Year of Play. Infant floor-play and tummy-time activity gym with wooden frame, developmental play mat, detachable toys, learning cards, mirror, card clips and Play Guide. Sold by Amazon.com as new. Amazon ASIN B075R8BXXC.

I purchased a new Lovevery Play Gym from Amazon.com for my three-month-old infant. The product was delivered internationally to Argentina on August 14, 2026. I recorded a continuous unboxing video beginning before the retail carton was opened. The Lovevery carton appeared to have been previously opened and crudely resealed. Inside, the product was substantially incomplete and appeared previously used. The play mat had multiple absorbed yellow-brown liquid stains, including large discolored areas, as well as visible dirt and debris. The staining is consistent in appearance with urine or another bodily fluid, although the substance has not been laboratory tested. The mirror was dirty, scratched and marked with fingerprints, and the product documentation was heavily crumpled. Most of the advertised components were missing, including at least 12 of 14 learning cards, the high-contrast ball, a silicone teething component, all three card-display clips, and the full Play Guide. This product is designed for direct use by an infant during floor play and tummy time. In normal use, the mat and components would come into direct contact with an infant’s skin, hands and face. The apparent contamination created a potential exposure to an unknown biological substance and therefore a potential risk of illness to a three-month-old infant. The product was not used after its condition was discovered. The exact carton has a supplier label identifying LOVEVERY, 305 S. Bullard Ave., Goodyear, AZ 85338, as the sender and Amazon CMH3, 700 Gateway Blvd., Monroe, OH 45050, as the recipient. It identifies THE PLAY GYM (US), PO [REDACTED], carton logistics barcode [REDACTED]. Amazon later shipped that same carton to me as a new product. I notified both Amazon and Lovevery and supplied photographs and the uninterrupted unboxing video. Lovevery acknowledged the complaint and offered a full replacement. Amazon authorized a [REDACTED] return. The physical product was picked up from me by [REDACTED] on August 18, 2026 under [REDACTED] and is currently being returned to Amazon in the United States. I have specifically asked Amazon to preserve the returned product as product-safety evidence and not restock it. I am concerned about both the potential biological contamination of this infant product and the possibility that a previously used or returned infant product entered inventory represented and sold as new. I request that CPSC review the incident and, if appropriate, coordinate with Amazon and Lovevery to preserve and inspect the returned unit and investigate the relevant inventory and quality-control records.

Made Apr 2, 2026, sent to the company Apr 7, 2026, published by CPSC Apr 21, 2026

The product, in the report: Lovevery Play Gym Activity Mat for infants. Soft fabric play mat with a removable wooden play gym frame and attached toys. The mat includes a transparent plastic layer section used for sensory play. The product is designed for infants to lie play and interact with hanging toys.

I purchased a Lovevery Play Gym Activity Mat intended for infant use. After 2 to 3 normal washes as part of routine cleaning, the plastic layer began to peel crack and deteriorate significantly.

This created small detachable plastic fragments. Because the product is used by an infant these pieces present a potential choking hazard.

The product was used as intended and cleaned under normal household conditions. The issue was not present initially and only appeared after limited use.

Due to safety concerns the product was discarded. No injury occurred but continued use was considered unsafe.

The product, in the report: Wooden play gym

(08/07/2024) The top part of the toy became loose and fell apart while the baby was playing under it. The gym has three wooden legs. When the gym fell apart, one of the legs hit the consumer’s 9-week-old granddaughter on her forehead. She has a bruise on her forehead. No medical attention was required. And she had a cut - we called her doctor to see if we needed to come in.

The product, in the report: Lovevery Play Gym Item Model Number: 9000001 ASIN: B075R8BXXC

My 6-month old was using on the Lovevery Play Gym when she rolled over pulling one of the flaps of the mat over top of herself. When she rolled, she was holding the teething ring that is attached to the mat in her hand. She was able to wrap the teething ring and string around her neck with this motion. The string was wrapped so tightly around her neck that it had to be cut off with scissors and it caused a rope burn on the back of her neck. Thankfully she started screaming and we were able to quickly remove, but this string on the mat is a hazard and should be removed. I alerted Lovevery who replied regarding the incident and requested the mat be sent back for quality review. I have heard nothing in the 3 months that have past.
